[Day 3 - Late Afternoon] Market Meanderings

After of day of mental gymnastics and lightsaber lessons, Esla was more than happy to take a break from the academy itself to give herself some personal time. Her wander around Coruscant brought her to the Galatic Market, another busy centre where locals gathered for another reason. She hovered close to a few stalls, close enough to catch a glimpse of what they were selling but far enough to not start a conversation with the salespeople. There was one who tried to get her attention to some stuffed animals made in the likeness of a jungle planet elsewhere. She smiled sheepishly and gave a small wave to show she wasn't so interested.

"Oh, uh, well, I'm not really in the market for this." O'vala looked over at her fellow youngling. "Ah, I need to go talk to her! Bye!"

The miralian sprinted over to Esla and smiled. "Hi, uh, well, we're supposed to know each other. Let's go, go, go. Can't be having them be suspicious."

Esla blinked when O'vala approached her out of the blue at an unexpected angle. She took a step away from her instinctively before realizing that she was likely someone from the academy. What she was saying didn't make much sense and she glanced to see who "them" might be. However, she did begin to walk with O'vala to see what this might about.

"Phew. I just wasn't able to get them to take no for an answer. I'm a Jedi, I don't have a lot of money." O'vala sighed and kept on walking along. "Have we met? I just remember you from the, uh, meeting where we all were with the masters and stuff."

Looking at the merchants, it did finally dawn on her what O'vala was talking about. She was at least relieved to find some space away from the vendors so she could go back to loitering in peace.

Esla gave a few small nods at O'vala's question, unless there was another academy around here? However, she was seen at the tests, so they were in the right academy at least.

"Hm. You don't seem to be the talkative sort. Well good news for you, I don't mind talking a lot." O'vala peered around at the stalls. "You know, I'm not so sure what to pack for the trip. A cloak seems like a good idea but otherwise I don't really know!"

Esla raised her brows at the mention of packing up for the trip, here she assumed that everything would have been provided for. She might have gotten too comfortable staying on Coruscant for too long. "...Why would you need a cloak?" She eventually spoke up.

Not far away a young Mikkian was working her way around the stalls. She seemed engrossed in the supplies on offer at a wilderness adventure outfitter.

"In case it's cold! Or hot? Do thermal cloaks work for both?" O'vala, in her classic way, didn't even notice the mikkian until they were almost about to bump into each other. "Oh, oh, hello Zizzy! Perhaps you can help us find things to bring and stuff? I think you knew what we were doing when we went into the forest and stuff."

Zizzy's tendrils sensed the Mirialan well before they almost bumped into each other, but she was distracted and it took a moment. "Oh, hey, O'vala! Aaaaand. Esla? Right?"

She smiled and pointed at a bunch of things. "Sure. I was trying to decide if I need an aquata breather. I mean, I've already got a thermal cloak, and I know how to make a shelter. But I can't breathe water." A long finger pointed out some ration packs. "Those ones are less disgusting. If you think we'll need them."

"I think they do. I do remember someone telling me it was cold, actually..." She murmured with a tinge of embarrassment as she glanced off, remember being rebuked by Eir. At least, in her mind.

Esla smiled faintly at Zizzy and gave her a nod of acknowledgement when they happened upon her. Admittedly, Zizzy was perhaps more recognizable at first sight considering she hadn't seen too many Mikkians around here. Maybe it was the tendrils on her head. She nodded along to O'vala's words to show that she shared the same sentiment. It would be good to get some direction around here, she didn't want to be accidentally buying too much around here.

She blinked at the mention of water, it looked like there was more than just the cold to worry about.

"Oh wow Zizzy. You seem super knowledgeable about not dying in the wilds!" O'vala exclaimed with a big smile. It was likely super obvious that it was genuine due to how excited she seemed. "I don't have anything, really. The cloak sounds good but otherwise I don't really know!"

Zizzy speed the funny look from Esla. "Oh I'm just thinking ahead. Who knows what they'll have us doing. Maybe it'll be political negotiations and we all think it's wilderness survival." She shrugged, tendrils bouncing.

"Hmm, well if you don't have a cloak already you could just buy a wilderness survival kit? It comes with one, and it's 350 credits for that and a bunch of other stuff."

"Wilderness survival kit?" O'vala narrowed her eyes. "Well, that sounds like a pretty good idea! See, you are very smart! Oh, maybe a backpack to put it in, or something." She crossed her arms and went inward, deep in thought.

"Yeah, you'd probably want a pack to carry it in." She collected an aquata breather, some stim packs, and a couple of ration bars just in case.

"Hmm, now what I really need is some microfibre and a really nice survival knife."

"Micro what?" O'vala looked at the aqua breather. "Would my breath mask work for that?"

She then tilted her head. "Why would you need the knife?"

Esla perked up at the mention of the kit. That sounded really promising, especially considering it people probably had a better idea than she did and it all came in a neat package. She stepped in beside Zizzy and echoed her selection of goods. Having never really travelled into the wilderness before, this all seemed legitimate.

Suddenly, the concern of over-buying began to eat at her. However, perhaps it was better to be prepared than to be caught out in the snow without any layers to speak of. She would probably be the first padawan in history to fail her trail because she wasn't prepared, that would be embarrassing.

"I'm sure we'll all be fine with whatever we bring. I mean we've got each other. And the force. Right? So I'm just grabbing some 'just in case' things. You know. Just in case." She seemed pretty happy about her explanation.

"I wonder where we're actually going?" Her vision came back to her and she tried to think about something else instead.

"Just in case..." Esla murmured to herself as she looked at the breathing equipment she picked up. Hopefully, not swimming. Then again, when else would they use something like this...perhaps if the airlock was broken and they were losing oxygen? That's probably scarier than swimming.

"I just know there's going to be somewhere cold." She said on a timid note.

"Ilum, right? That place is supposed to be cold." She wrapped her hands around an imaginary ball shape. "But there are crystals there. I bet it's beautiful!"
