Foolish Youth, Episode II: Attack of the Younglings [D2 LM]

by Zanja
Zanja flipped up the hood of her jacket, throwing her face into shadow as she peeked around the corner at the block containing the Silent Sun. "Okay. Just so we're clear, no Byron-ing in there. If we start bashing heads we're going to be really, really outnumbered."
The Zabrak girl seemed a little too at ease on Black Sun turf. Even the wary glances she cast over her shoulders at frequent intervals didn't make her seem out of place; somehow she made the gesture look comfortable, a perfectly natural mannerisms that fit in better down here than in the Temple.

These clothes weren't anything like the ones Silas had in mind. Then that was likely the reason Farissa had decided to do the shopping herself. Still it would have to work. Trying not to looke too out of place, Silas smiled as his fellow younglings.
"Okay, and remember we arent supposed to tell Byron about any of this. Knight Farissa is worried it might hurt him really bad." Now that he thought about it, he might need to tell the younglings about this as well.

Mir, slightly less brave and notably more hesitant was with the group, though he kept walking so that Silas remained between him and Zanja. "So. Why shouldn't Byron know his actions have consequences?" Mir asked? "It's not like he told the youngling to head out like this."

"Well, I think she plans to tell him about it after Reg is safe." He paused a moment. "I think she just didn't want Cap to go Byroning in here trying to save him."

Zizzy looked quite different in the street-rated clothes. Not as natural as Zanja, but it was odd seeing her tendrils interlaced with stylish urban wear (for the Mikkian about town).
"Byroning, haha." She gave Zanja a smile and looked over at Mir. "You know I'm sort of with you on that Mir. He can totally be a big bonehead. But right now I think it would crush him and he'd just charge in. We all know that protecting others isn't just about saving them from physical harm. I think this time that includes protecting Byron." She tapped her chin. "It sounds like Knight Farissa will tell him when things are fixed. I mean, maybe the force meant all of this as a lesson for Reg and a cautionary tale for Byron?"
Her tendrils focused on the area around the Silent Sun. "Okay, so, we'll scout the place out and see what we can see?"

"Byron ought not to let his saber lead him." Mir mused, smirking in a catty manner. "He's got a head on his shoulders too. Farissa says a good jedi uses his or head more than his or her saber." he appealed to the authority of an adult. "I guess we can go in. No-one goes full Byron though. We'll just look around and get out, right?"

"Well I prefer to use my head as much as possible Mir." Zizzy said cheerfully, trying not to think about their impending combat test.
"Yeah, we're looking for clues about Reg. Oh, that reminds me. When the force showed me that vision there was a sound. Like a child's rattle, or a bike wheel with a card or something stuck in it. If anyone finds that sound Reg might be nearby."

Their clothes were thick and long jackets with hoods on them, with a red hawkbat on the back to make it seem like they were some small gang.
Their commlinks beeped simultaneously, and the caller was none other than Knight Farissa.

"Right, Red Hawkbat gang," she said with some dry humor. "You don't see me, but I'm nearby - in case things go terribly wrong."
"So, be calm, natural, and go in there to find out what is going on. Spread out and try to play to your strengths - be it eavesdropping, charming some of them into talking, or hacking into their communications."

Zizzy flicked on her comm and immediately got into character. "This is Zee. Red Hawkbats rule!" Looking around she added. "Thanks for the gear. I'll set my tendrils to stun."

"That's the spirit. Keep the line open, if you feel like, but I'll go silent for now."

OOC: The outfits count as Concealing Robes (1 Soak, 0 Def, setback for others to notice or recognize you), but also give you guys a Boost on Deception roles to be "in character".

There's a single guard at the entrance to the Silent Sun cantina, wearing their symbol on his jacket.
---
OOC: Gaining entry to the Silent Sun Cantina should be easy enough. A Deception, Charm, or Coercion check against Easy difficulty (remember that you effectively get 2 Boosts from your outfits because of the setback to your opponents) will let you inside without causing suspicion or a scene.

"Okay, let's go." Zanja slouched into the lead, moving with a mix of swagger and caution. The fictive Red Hawkbats would be in a position she knew a little about, brash enough to claim some independent group identity, but not stupid enough to actually challenge the Suns. Maybe hoping to get picked up by Black Sun themselves when they were a little older.
"Hey." She nodded to the guard, letting her body language and a sly, don't-ask-me-why-I'm-not-in-school-at-this-hour smile do most of the talking.
Of course I belong here. Me and my crew both. Unless he asked her something specific, running her mouth too much with explanations would only raise suspicion, not allay it. Or so Zanja figured.
She watched his reaction in case the sight of a bunch of youths might elicit any memories of a recent run-in with a similarly brash, if much less subtle, Jedi youngling.

D2 LM--bluffing into the cantina, easy Deception with 2x boost for me:
4eA+2eB+1eD 5 successes, 2 advantage

Can I use those Advantages to pick up some flavor of clue? Otherwise, pass a boost to the next person rolling to do something investigatey.

Hacking into communications! That has his job right? Zanja was definitely the sneaky one, which left Zizzy as the charming one and... Maybe Mir was the charming one? Did gangsters like cat ears? Probably not, so maybe he was sneaky too.
Being new at this Silas did his best just to blend in with the others, and decided looking grumpy was his best bet to do so. When Di moved forward Silas followed, hopefully they would get in without much trouble.

OOC: You can pass them as a Boost to the next roller.

The guard gives them a brief glance, but none of them were familiar faces to him. Probably kids trying to act cool again, he'd seen that before. A young and eclectic bunch, but who were the Black Sun to judge such things. "Hey," he said, letting them pass without fuss. Zanja sold the act well.
Inside the Silent Sun Cantina, things were quiet at this time of day. Most of the dwellers in this hive of scum and villainy were probably sleeping by now, though there were still some people in here. There was some loud anti-establishment music blaring from the jukebox, while a holodancer in the center of the large hall was moving erraticly to the beat. There were various screens showing sports from all over the galaxy: Huttball, podracing, motorball, various brutal fights... these screens had it all. In addition to this, there were gambling consoles for simulated Pazaak and shiny-shiny slot machines.
In the various islands of lounges, there were some patrons. On a closer look, it seemed to be a mix of Black Sun and other who were probably up to no good too. The bar had only one worker plus a droid currently on shift.

Once they were inside Zizzy letter her voice so that only her compositions could hear. "Nice work Zanja. Alright Red Hawkbats, I'm going to see if I can find the place I could see in my vision. Hopefully Reg is near there. Stay in touch." She patted her comm and strutted off towards the gambling area. Since she hadn't recognised the sound in her vision, and she hadn't ever been gambling, it seemed like a fair possibility that the noise was from a game of some sort.
OOC: Perception roll?

Silas looked around as they entered, finding a empty table and starting in that direction. He wasnt sure how these things usually went, but he was pretty sure if they all just went off and started talking to people it would look weird.

by Mir
Mir, his ears hidden by his cowl approached the guard. He coughed softly to get his attention before summoning his kindest smile - that is, grinning like
Cheshire cat. "Good sir, might you have seen a human youngling about this tall coming here today?" He moved his paw to what he imagined to be the kid's height - that is to say he left his paw to the height of Eir's nose. "He might have come this today, he might have not. He's part of our posse and we are kinda looking for him."
_________
Attack of the Younglings [D2 LM] I am charming kitty - you are bouncer.:
1eP+2eA+1eB+1eC+1eD 1 success, 3 advantage

Success and passing the Advantages to the next roller?

"Hmm..." the man, a human with a terrible haircut, scratched his chin. "Not often I see kids around here, but I did see one not too long ago, I think. Don't remember what time it was, but yeah, I've seen a kid." He took a long drag from the deathstick between his fingers. "Maybe talk to Barkeep. He'd probably know more - and helpful for the right price."
A few looked at the group not long after coming inside, but did nothing. For now.
There were so many game machines, it would be hard to find it...
---
OOC Mir: Success and one advantage to your benefit to nudge you in the right direction. 2 advantages become a Boost to next roller.
OOC Zizzy: Perception or Vigilance against Average, but with a Setback due to the unfamiliarity with game-machines. Also throwing a GM Destiny upgrade at you too.
