There was still a lot of wor to be done on his armor, so when Silas go the chance he made his way back to the Hangar, he hoped to finish this job up tomorrow, and if he was going to do that he'd need to spend at least a few hours tonight. Settling at one of the work benches he took out all the pieces and started working. It wasn't looking like armor yet, but it would soon enough.

6/12 hours done

"Hey Silas," O'vala announced with less of her usual pep. She walked over with her training stick strapped to her back. "I can't believe I had to stay longer because my saber broke. I didn't even know they could."

"Heya, Valee." Silas greeted the green girl with a grin. "Really? That sucks, but yeah sabers can break. Most things can break honestly, some things just are harder to break then others."

"You didn't see? The masters weren't happy with it." O'vala made some mock lightsaber swings with nothing in her hands. "I was swinging a lot at the trial and it just went 'kerbloof,'" she concluded with expanding her hands.

"Oh, I saw. It just sucks that you got detention." Silas clarified. "What are you going to do then? Are you going to get a new training Saber? Or will you have to go without l?"

"I dunno, they gave me this stick for now. But I was wondering if you knew how to fix it." O'vala sighed. "Now I wish I went to your classes."

"Maybe?" He paused thoughtfully. "Is the crystal broke?" That was the part that would be difficult to repair. "Or just the emitters and stuff?"

"Oh, do you have it with you? It might be best if I looked!"

"I think the crystal is okay but the rest of it is kerplat." O'vala sighed. "I didn't even know they could do that." She took it out and held it out. "Stupid thing."

Silas paused to take the broken training Saber from O'vala. "Kerplat is really the right word for it." He said with a thoughtful nod. "that fact that the crystal is intact is good though. If it wasn't wou'd have to buy a new one; if you could find one. As it is, it's probably going to pretty pricey to fix it." Maybe as much as buying a new one

"I could look at the prices of the parts and get back to you if you want."

O'vala peered at the saber real close. "How did this even happen? Could a regular lightsaber have blown up like this too?"

"I'd think so." Silas offered after a moment. "There are breakable parts in most things." A thoughtful expression made it's way onto hsi features. "Though having it happen to a an actual lightsaber might have more disastrous results."

"What about Mandalorian armor? That sort of stuff seems like it never really breaks." O'vala crossed her arms. "At least like the real big deal stuff. Some of them can't afford the expensive stuff."

"I'm pretty sure if they had discovered a way to make unbreakable armor they'd have taken over the galaxy or something by now." He paused thoughtfully. "I imagine it is pretty durable though. Maybe more then average, but unbreakable? That's very unlikely."

He flashed a smile. "I mean if a material wasn't breakable you likely couldn't get it into a shape you could make armor out of."

"Oh yeah, I guess you'd have to be able to make them into things." O'vala tilted her head. "So how does any armor work then?"

"It's more about dispersion and deflection then it is about just taking a hit. Of course there is some absorption involved, but that's a secondary thing. " He explained as he looked over the broken training saber.

"You really did a number on this, it's going to cost just about as much tas buying a new one to repair it."

"Huh. I'll take your word for it." As long as it kept her alive, she figured it didn't matter how armor worked.

O'vala sighed. "Then I feel like that defeats the purpose of getting it fixed!"

"Maybe getting it fixed is a lesson in itself? It teaches you to be more careful with things?" That sounded like something the master's would be into. "Either way I can make you a list of parts. Maybe you can find some of them around the temple? I'm sure that most of them would be in storage or something."

"Ugh." O'vala stretched and then nodded. "Fine. Write it down and I'll have to go run around for it." She crossed her arms and shrugged. "I guess I can treat it like an adventure."

"Right!" He flashed a grin at the girl. "You can think of it kinda like a treasure hunt, and when you obtain all the right pieces they can be put together to form a Training Saber!"

"Though even when you get everything, I might have to ask someone to help with the repairs, it's pretty messed up." He continued As he pulled out his datapad and started to type up the list of parts needed

"Oh, that makes me think of those games you can put on your datapad or something. I never really got into them though cause like I just want to do that stuff instead!"

O'vala crossed her arms. "Could one of the other younglings help on the ship? Would I be able to?"
