Lightsaber 102 (D3, Mid-Afternoon)

(For those who are to be assistant instructors from passing the Combat test on Day 2)
Today's class was not the cute little younglings, but the students who were close in age to also begin their trials soon... or simpy had not been deemed ready yet.
Jaric waited patiently as the students lined up with their training sabers at the beginning of class.

Mir was there, feeling bit better. He might have fluked the test - but he wasn't training to be a sage anyway. Here, at the training hall he could show the others what he was made of. Fur and steel. His blue eyes gleamed with determination.

Eir reported to the class, training saber clipped to her belt and more than a little nervous. She wasn't entirely sure how ready she was to be teaching anyone, but hopefully it would be good practice.

Ares reported for class, a strapping young man proud.... sort of. He was not happy about his results during the day, but he tried to comfort himself now. He was wearing an ancient blade, that wasn't with him the day before, and he was dressed in a tanktop and training pants.
"Master, everyone."

Byron arrived with a half-eaten fried bred wrapped meat and vegetables spilling white sauce, messy and delicious. He inhaled the rest and then said with mouth slightly full, “My only request is not in the face, it’s my only redeeming quality.”

Taime entered, nodding to those present. He felt like a fraud, but this was a chance to learn more. Hopefully, he could improve and help others.

Byron smiled and said, “Welcome to the party Mister Charms, kind of you take some time away from your adoring fans to join us. But seriously good to see you here, we fought well together against those Mandalorians, and of course you too Ares, as if there was any doubt.”
“How is O’vala doing?” he added to Taime.

Taime kept a cool head, but he really did hate that name. "She's fine. It was just a good way to get away from those reporters. Didn't know what the Masters would want us saying, so it seemed like a good plan." He shrugged.

“Good to hear, I was worried but had not seen her around till this morning. How did you do in the Combat test, I didn’t get a chance to see it, too busy watching Ares show off,” he said with a chuckle.

"Class is commencing," Jaric said sternly, perhaps a tad too much to his 'assistants'. The other students fell in line quietly. Everyone knew that Jaric was serious and expected no funny business during his classes.
"We'll go over the advanced techniques today of turning your opponent's moves against them - something that you wil find applicable in all forms of combat and not merely with lightsabers."
He gestured to Eir to step up to him. "Take your stance, please, with weapon in hand."

Restraining an alarmed “eep”, Eir approached the large man, feeling smaller than ever. She ignited her training saber and adopted a defensive stance.

Mir watched Jaric to pick Eir with some
concern. He hoped that Master Jaric wouldn't clobber her too hard.

"Now, attack me," he stood relaxed in front of her, waiting for her to step forward into an attack so he could demonstrate to the students.

He turned when Jaric came in, slightly relieved at his entrance. Byron didn't seem to be his biggest fan. Or maybe that's just how he was. Who knew.
As he picked Eir, Taime restrained himself, knowing Eir wouldn't thank him for worrying about her. But he clenched his fists gently until he saw her strike. YES! That's just right. He watched intently, hoping this would go well.

With confident experience, Jaric faced the attack head-on by pushing
Eir's attack to the side with one arm and for now keeping it there with a light grip.
"From here, regardless if you're armed with a saber, blade, some other weapon, or just your fists, you can move on counter-attack," he demonstrated slow taps to give suggestion to what was possible to do with his fist. "Let's repeat the move slowly once more to give everyone a good look."

Nodding to Jaric, Eir stepped back to her starting position and repeated the action in slow, deliberate motions.

by Zanja
Zanja's player was sluggish on Sunday mornings, but Zanja herself was present, though keeping a low-ish profile, which probably meant she looked a bit sullen without entirely meaning to do so. She'd gotten herself chewed out (albeit in a mild and Jedi-ish way) for her approach in the yesterday's test, even though she'd passed; she was pretty sure she wasn't going to be expected to teach that. And it was Master Jaric she'd whacked with her stunsaber using those unorthodox tactics. Hopefully he wasn't the vengeful type.

Mir glanced in the general direction of Zanja, summoning a mental image of Jaric tossing the haughty zabrak across the training hall. The thought brought a sly grin on his lips. With his hopes high (of seeing Zanja whacked around) he focused his gaze on the jedi master and his lesson.
