Jedi Breakfast (Day 10 Mid Morning)

Breakfast was the most important meal of the day. Silas was pretty sure thats something one of the Masters would say, probably Murah or Ogrus. It was doubly important today too, he'd enter the crystal caves a trainee and leave a jedi afterall.
Sitting at one of the common room tables, he stirred his porridge; none too appetizing but it was warm, and took a sip of his Kaff. It was a big step he was about to take, and he wanted to be ready for it.

Esla didn't need the Force to tell her that it was likely going to be a very busy day today. Just as their lightsabers were constructed, the pinnacle of their training was just around the corner. She didn't assume she'd pass but the opportunity to prove herself was more than enough to fill her stomach with large-winged insects. Uhm, maybe not. Still, she wanted some food to go with her empty stomach and hopefully she'd run into someone too?
She entered the common room with a tray of bread and butter. "Oh...Silas," she said as she made her way to his table.
"Good morning," she said with a small smile.

A pretty girl in the early morning? That was always a blessing. "Hi Aina!" He beamed a smile at the shorter woman. "Would you care to join me for breakfast?"
He had her dress ready, though he hadn't handed it over. There had been a little lack of time before now.

Esla hadn't really thought about sitting with him but that seemed like the right idea after he offered. "Oh, sure. Thank you."
With that, she joined him at the table. She took up her knife and began cutting the bread so that she could apply some butter. "...How are you?" She asked curiously, seeing as they haven't really spoken to each other ever since they landed.

"Mmmmm.. Better then yesterday." He offered after a moment his eyes shifting to the bread and butter. "Could I have a piece of that?"
"What about you though? Doing well?"

Esla nodded easily to the request and presented him with both pieces of the cut bread to offer him the choice of which one he wanted. "Oh...what happened yesterday? I thought yesterday was okay and I'm doing okay. I'm a bit...excited..."
She frowned shortly, "but also a bit nervous too..."

"Ah... " A blush tinged his cheeks. "I messed up on my first attempt at making my hilt." He confessed after a moment, his hand reaching out to take the smaller piece of bread. "I got it right the second time, but it was pretty disappointing."
"But I think that's me too, a little nervous and a lot excited and even a bit anxious?" He placed the bread on his bowl after taking a bite. "I kinda wish we were in the chamber already?"

Esla nodded soundly when Silas took the piece he wanted and she got to buttering her piece. She looked up at him, probably looking bemused that someone like Silas would mess up on making a lightsaber. That seemed so strange. Maybe Silas was aiming to make something really complicated? That must be it.
She smiled encouragingly, "I'm sure you did really well with your hilt."
"I don't know if I would want to go now..." She said as she looked at her bread, almost questioningly. "But now seems to be as good of a time as any. If we are ready, it's now."

"Yeah those were my thoughts. Maybe I just want to get it out of the way?" Silas offered thoughtfully as he scooped up a spoonful of his porridge. It was a good as guess as any.
"But you're right, it turned out well the second time i tried. So maybe failing was a good thing, to a degree."

"Destiny doesn't wait for anyone, I think. We probably shouldn't push it off, even if we could, that would be rude," said with a self-convinced nod before taking a bite from her bread, chewing it thoughtfully.
"I can only imagine that you made an even better one with your second try," she smiled warmly at him and then looked under the table at her belt. "I made one but I don't know if it's very practical..."

"Right!" He nodded at her first statement, before taking another bite of his porridge. It was warm and oaty, a little cinnamon and some apples would do it some good.
"I'm sure it's fine." Silas' lips curled into a warm smile, as he reached a hand for his own hilt. "If you don't mind showing me yours, I'll show you mine."

Esla couldn't help but blush at the request, feeling more embarrassed than anything. Compared to what she thought Silas could do, she imagined hers was probably amateurish in comparison. Nevertheless, she nodded after a bit of hesitation and presented her lightsaber hilt. It attempted to mix modern designs with feudal ones, borrowing elements of a rapier with the handguard and hilt. Obviously, it wouldn't do much real good in a lightsaber fight. She glanced off as she snacked on her buttered bread.

"Oh, that's really neat Aina." Silas murmured as he looked the hilt ove, he really hadn't thought to incoporate anything like she had. In fact his was ratherr standard as far as lightsaber hilts went. It seemed the young man had chosen functionality over flash at least when it case to his saber, the only thing that really stood out being the extra length, likely to allow for more customization in the future. "I like it, it look's elegant." That was a good enough desciptor for it.

Esla looked bashful as she gave a small shrug at her handiwork with a small smile before she stowed it away. "Thank you, Silas. Yours looks pretty neat too and I can't say that I'm a sword maker like you. You've probably made a thousand prettier things before...but I guess it's not bad for the first time?"

"Nah, I think you did great! Plus there is always a chance to make improvements and changes to it later." He grinned and leaned back in his seat after storing his lightsaber hilt.
"That does remind me. I've finished that dress for you." He'd been meaning to hand it over, but hadn't had the chance.

Esla gave big blink at that as she quickly laid down the bread she was nomming on, clearly a bit excitement stirring inside her. "Oh, you did?! You had time to work on it after all? That was pretty quick!"

"We had a whole week stuck on a ship on the way over here." Silas replied with a grin. "And I'd already been working on it a bit in my spare time."
"Right now it's in my room, but I can go get it if you like."

Esla glanced around anxiously if it would be too much to ask to see the dress now, especially when they had sat down already for breakfast. She smiled shyly at the request. "Uhm...I think about done with your scarf too."
"I think," she added on an unsure cautionary note. "If you get that, maybe I can get what I made for you?"

"That seems like a deal." Silas replied with a grin, as he rose from his seat. Breakfast could wait for the few minutes it would take to get the dress, and Aina's happy smile would be more then worth it.
"I'll be right back, then." He said before disappearing towards his room.

And Esla did the same as she made her way to her quarters. Considering that she didn't have to make a full dress, grabbing the scar from her things should have taken too long. However, that didn't stop her from being very deliberate with it as she checked her work for flaws and tried to reassure herself that it was finished. Maybe if she had another day or two, she could have made it more fanciful but she supposed timing was everything. Silas was finished with the dress and today was likely the last day of their training. Who knows if they might have another chance?
With that in mind, she gingerly made her way back to the where they met first.
