Eir clutched her copy of The Duality of the Force close to her chest as she made her way over, curious as to what they might have pulled out of the ice. She was wearing her New Armourâ„¢ she and Silas had worked so hard on during the journey, the hood up and the scarf pulled over her nose and mouth.

Taime came filing in behind her, clad in his own set of Silas armor with his thermal cloak over top. It was too cold to worry about fashion. He turned to Eir. "This is my favorite gift I've ever gotten." Pointing to his thermal cloak with a tiny grin.

Silas wasn't far behind then, trotting a little to catch up, his own book about Crystal's in his backpack. "What do you think we'll find guys?" He asked with a grin as he joined the other two.

Esla decided to come along to this excursion. She was buddled up in her share of layers with a black thermal cloak, a scarf wrapped around her face and a fuzzy pillbox hat. She didn't know what, or who, to expect really.

"You must be the jedi," corporal Raz met the students, and showed them into the side-room of the hangarbay. The room seemed to be mostly used for storage of spare parts, but now it had a big block of ice on the workshop table. With something in the center...

It seemed like a star-shaped object of some sorts.

"Strangest thing, really, we picked up something that registered closely to distress signals somewhere on the western ice shelf. Not quite sure what we should've expected, but it came from under several meters of ice and snow. My team and I managed to dig it out, and well... this is what we found." The Cathar woman gestured to the hunk of ice.

"Hi, Corporal." Silas replied with a friendly smile, falling silent a few moments later to listen to her story.

"That is strange." He murmured stepping forward to try and get a better view of the object. His senses extending out, to try and determine if any sort of electrical signals emanated from the object.

Ooc: Rank 1 manipulate let's me mend damaged systems at engaged range. Not really trying to repair it, but trying to see if it could be repaired? If that's allowed.

The object did seem to have suffered some hardship. Being trapped in ice and all for who knows how long. But to Silas' senses there was still a spark of activity there, though it didn't quite feel like normal objects.

Taime came closer and tried to reach out his senses towards the object. Was it alive was the big question.

But he got nowhere with it. "Eir, can you sense this and tell me if you're getting anything? You're better at it than I am."

Eir moved closer, shaking her head, "I don't think that's true, T'ame." She didn't even attempt to extend her senses out to the object.

"So, uh... any idea what this thing is?" the corporal asked, a bit uneasy yet curious at the silence of mystical stuff going on.

Esla pursed her lips together at the question and her gaze slowly veered toward the others, perhaps narrowing down on Silas. She always thought that he was one of the very smart people amongst them.

Eir peered at the device, but its construction wasn't triggering anything for her. She couldn't recall seeing anything like it before.

Eir could not recognize it from anything she had read, but she could at least rule out what it was not.

"Well, it's still working, even if just barely." Silas offered to the Corporal. "The energy signature isnt one I readily recognize though."

He doubted the book the Librarian gave him would help much, but he took it out anyways as he started to glance between in and the object.

The book about crystals didn't help him much in this regard, but it did give him the spark of an idea; maybe the reason why it felt strange was because of its connection to the Force - similarly to how a crystal would.

What he realised after thinking it through, was that it was some sort of Force device. It didn't look like any sort of holocron that he or the others knew of, but maybe it was something similar, but different...?

"Should we remove it from the ice block? We didn't want to take any chances until you jedi folks got a look at it, incase it was some dangerous mystical doohickey that would implode the room or something..."

"Well, all I can tell you us that is some sort of force device." Silas murmured after a few moments. "It shouldn't explode though. It doesn't seem to be a weapon."

Not as far as he could tell. He reached out his other sense, just to see if he could feel anything. "And if the others don't object I think we can cut it out of the ice?"

That was very strange. Not only did it seem to be connected to the Force, but it also felt more like the presence of a person, rather than just the star-shaped object it was. It was faint, as if the person was dormant, but it was undeniably there.

"Alright. If you guys say so, we got the tools for that kinda job right here." Raz gestured to their various plasma torches and cutters.
