"Think it still has power?" Zanja crunched over to the door and eyed the frozen surface, trying to get a view of the mechanisms underneath. "Careful with that stuff, just in case. If it's powered and you get it on wrong, things might get noisy."

“Just get the door open,” Byron said tersely growing tired of the cold.

OOC: Knock it out was just offering as I am not sure who has what.

"Well this us a little outside my expertise, so why don't you and Oixie set it up." Silas replied to Di with a grin.

"Cap and I will keep our eyes out for anything out of the usual."

Ooc: I'd say Zanja rolls with Eir helping, and we see how it goes.

"Just hurry it up, this cold is really not agreeing with me," he said with irritation.

[Zanja]

"You didn't have to come out here," Zanja pointed out with typical tact, beginning to strip off her gloves. "Here, lemme see that." This last was a bit muffled by the glove fingertip clamped between her teeth as she reached out a bare hand for the firepaste. "Okay, let's see..."

It was a bit like trying to crack a blast door that had another door right behind it, one you didn't want to touch. Also everything was cold as heck. But Zanja figured out how to apply the paste such that the ice sloughed off in a neat sheet, more or less.

Uhh, that's a lot of Advantages! Apply them to find or notice something interesting while working on the door? Maybe something notable about the technology or decorations or some such?

“Just hurry up Zanja, I am not here to put up with your annoying mouth, I’m here to make sure no one gets hurt,” he said bitterly.

He shivered but was more agitated than cold at this point.

As the ice melted away, the details on the door became a bit more visible, even if they were worn down by time and weather. They looked... familiar? Like what they had seen in the Works back on Coruscant, where they found the old droid, and the holocron. Gree?

The control panel was now thawed out too, so it was just a matter of getting it up and working to open the door.

OOC: Zanja's Advantages gives a Boost to mechanics to get the door working, and noticing details.

Mechanics against Average with a Setback for the poor conditions the controls are in to repair and get the door to function again (for both opening and closing). If you got a power-source of any kind to use, you get a free upgrade to your dicepool.

"This almost looks like more old Gree stuff." Zanja puffed on her hands to warm them after touching all that ice, dancing a little from foot to foot as she backed away from the door. "Okay, you lot are better than me at making machines sing. Unless you want me to just burn those too."

Byron shoved forward and said, "He's not the only mechanic around here." Remembering what he saw of the Gree equipment on Coruscant quickly got the door operational and more.

OOC: Triumph for stumbling on a master key or something to give him access to the internal systems?

After some poking around and crossing some new wires, the control panel sparked back to life. One the icy screen over the panel, Byron could see a map of the interior pop up. It would seem he had accessed the designer's schematics.

The door glowed with faint light to show it was operational.

As soon as Zanja had taken the firepaste, Eir's hand disappeared back into the sleeves of her cloak, wrapping her arms around her torso again. She really wished she was back on the beach on Auratera.

Byron opened the door and said to the group, "If someone has a datapad download the schematics."

[Eir]

Eir indeed had her datapad on her, and she imagined Silas would too, grumbling under her breath as she extracted her hands and the device and attempted to establish a wireless connection.

[Zanja]

Zanja just took a good long look at them before heading inside, fishing her glow rod out of her belt pouch. She had a pair of scanner goggles, but not everyone did, and there was really no point wandering around in the dark in an uninhabited building. We don't need that level of creepy.

"You guys know anything about this place? The Jedi used to use it or something, yeah?"

Seeing that Pixie had it under control, Silas let her have at in, instead pulling out his scanner googles and putting them on.

"Yeah, that's my understanding." Silas replied pulling out his glowrod and offering it to anyone in need.

Good thing that technology was so universal in the galaxy, as they had no problem in transferring the schematics over to their datapads.
