Test of Respect-Socialising (D5, MM)

Byron was pleased to see his fellow Jedi come out and do what they could for the locals, plus it made his claim to the locals all the more grounded. He never doubted they would help, but it was always reassuring to see words made into action.

He rubbed his brow to remove some sweat and continued to work; it was like the soup kitchen but sweatier and less soup… so maybe it was nothing like the soup kitchen.

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy was really happy that she got to show off her knowledge of hive creatures. Helping them to find suitable places for expansion that didn't get in the way of the settlers felt like a really important contribution. She considered trying to communicate with the Killiks directly but decided against it. Instead she communicated with hand gestures and tried to explain to the colonists how they could all live peacefully in this landscape.

"It's all about the lay of the land you see. They want caves and trails to move into and between. And those features aren't great for building on anyway."

Byron added, “I am still concerned about what happened to the missing people.”

Ares stood to the side, glaring at some of the more beligerent colonists.

"No, no violence. That includes rakes and knock knock jokes. Why do you even have rakes? It's all sand here!"

Byron tried his to poke around and see if he could find anything about these missing individuals... maybe he could reach the killiks now that they saw they were working to better their interests.

OOC: Jedi Cop is poking around for clues or killiks or something.

There were some Killiks nearby keeping an eye on things that did not seem hostile at the moment. Perhaps they understood what was going on.

Byron approached carefully showing his hands to show he meant no harm and said in Basic, "I am Byron of the Jedi, do you understand?"

Silas frowned softly. Apparently his bug talking hadn't been understood all too well, perhaps it was the lack of antenna?

Either way he hadn't really accomplished much. But he had tried his best at least!

Byron approached carefully showing his hands to show he meant no harm and said in Basic, "I am Byron of the Jedi, do you understand?"

The bug-creature responded with a series of confused clicks, but did not make any moves to attack.



"We understand you, Byron of the Jedi-hive," answered a human who approached from hiding. He spoke in a strange but pleasant monotone voice. "We are appricitative of the efforts made for the Hive."

Byron smiled and said, "Jedi live to serve. I'm just glad we coukd find a solution for all. There is still a concern though some locals have gone missing, is the Hive aware of this?"

"Missing?" his darkened eyes looked puzzled at such a possibility. "There is no loss. Only the hive."

“Of course, well has the Hive gained any members, recently? Has the Hive grown recently?” he replied hoping the man… or the consciousness of the hive would understand.

He had a sinking feeling that his suspicion may be right. He added, "Does the Hive have a name or title?"

"We are the Ukanauku. Our numbers increase as younglings can now grow in our chambers, and guardians have joined the fold."

“These new guardians are they like you, or are they like the younglings growing in the chambers? I know that you are of Hive Ukanauku, so I am not sure if such a distinction matters among your kind,” he offered politely.

[Faily]

"You refer to those who have joined the fold? The entity of 'I' was once not part of the hive - it was a lonely existence. The hive welcomes all to join and take part in our song. There is no loneliness within the hive."

[Byron Mik]

“I see, can I speak with these new instruments of the Hive, and can they leave if they so choose or is there no semblance of self once a member of the Hive?” he responded.

“What if they prefer the loneliness or what if they have other Hives that miss them and wish for them to return.”

[Faily]

The dark-eyed man looked puzzled. "We do not understand why one would leave the hive, unless to forage or scout for danger."

[Byron Mik]

“These new members of the Hive, they belonged to smaller Hives in the city, some might wish to return if they had a choice to do so. Those Hives may get angry if they feel their members were taken against the individual will to serve your Hive,” he responded.

[Faily]

The man shuffled slightly, looking as confused as fish on land. "We do not understand, but we lament for those who are not part of the hive."
