[D5 LE] See Me in My Office

[Eir]

After the curious meeting of Sith and Jedi, Eir had been called to see Master Orgus. She expected to get in trouble, her relationship with the Jedi code didn’t always match what the code taught, and she didn’t know how to couch her opinions in polite terms like Taime, and she probably wasn’t qualified to discuss such things with a Sith Lord. The half-arkanian figured it was probably the last one, Orgus probably wanted to grill her to see if Destrus’ words had started rotting her brain yet. She rolled her shoulders, stood up straight, and knocked on the Master’s door.

[Orgus Din]

The door opened quickly; Master Orgus stood there in his usual robes.

He gave Eir a reassuring smile. "Thank you for coming, Eir. Please, come in." He waved into the room. Master Chriala was also there, sitting on her own bed, wearing what looked like a nighttime robe; she smiled at Eir, too.

[Eir]

"Master Orgus," she bowed her head, "Master Chriala," oh boy, I'm really in trouble, Eir entered, folding her arms and tucking her hands into her sleeves.

[Orgus Din]

"Please." Orgus said, gesturing to a chair. "Have a seat."

He sat down after her, frowning thoughtfully. "There's something that we wanted to bring your attention to. It's not a cause for worry. But it is a cause for wariness." His lips set for a moment. "But we have reason to believe that Lord Destrus has a special interest in you."

[Eir]

Taking the offered seat, her feet dangling a few inches from the floor, Eir's eyes nearly fell out of her head. "Me?" she looked from Orgus to Chriala in open confusion. "I know I'm not the strictest adherent to the Code," she rushed to defend herself, "but, I mean, he's obviously wrong."

[Chriala Hulis]

Chriala shook her head, smiling gently. "We do not think that this is any fault in you, child."

[Orgus Din]

Orgus nodded agreement. "No. It's something else." He grimaced. "Lord Destrus has many unsavory interests. Experiments. It's more likely that you have some connection with one of these, somehow."

[Eir]

This illicited a confused expression from the girl. Despite not being able to reach the floor, she didn’t swing her feet, or fidget, “experiments? what kind of experiments?” She screwed up her nose, “like I was grown in a Sith baby lab? That’s not even a thing, right? Even Vera Hawke plots aren’t that dumb.” Eir considered the popular show to be the height of comedy, and been heard to opine that ‘it was like they’ve never even seen a Jedi before’.

[Orgus Din]

Orgus chuckled without humor. "Sith lord aren't often bound by what's sane and what isn't."

His face grew serious again. "But it doesn't need to be anything like that. Arkanians are known for engaging in genetic engineering, something he has an interest in. Perhaps it's something else. Or perhaps it's just a random passing fancy." He grimaced. "They're a bit difficult to predict, sometimes."

[Eir]

Eir looked at her hands sceptically, they were small and childlike, long fingers made to look even more slender by the heavy claws that tipped them. “So that’s what I am, huh? A failed and discarded experiment? Trying to be a Jedi? He must have had a really good laugh about that after we left.”
