I wasn't very active, I know. Despite Esla being shy and private, I don't think she has really any big secrets. Thank you for playing with me and ask away.

Glad to have you in the game!
Can you tell us a bit about the whys of Esla? What inspired you to create her? Why was she so quiet?
What stuff did you enjoy? Scenes, characters... locations, even?

Bugging Esla was quite a bit of fun.
Any idea of how their future interactions might be? will she continue to let him make her clothes?

Was Esla an Ascetic, or just quiet and reserved? I wondered if you were quiet in the meditative monk-like sense rather than being shy?

Always a pleasure to have you in the game, Boogie! I'm happy you could make it. <3
Esla was a quiet character but I felt with a lot of depth to her, and she had a lot of interesting aspects that I think will make her a good jedi.

And happily, if you ask me the questions! To be honest, my inspiration to make her was perhaps that classmate at school who seemed to never talk but surprisingly did in class for some reason. I suppose that's probably just a small character quirk and I filled in the rest in the background. I suppose with her behaviour and fashion, I thought she would come from a world that was a lot like 1800's and she didn't have much reason to talk, only do her duty. It seems rather natural as her duty prior to becoming a jedi was a maid, so she was used to standing in the background and being attentive when required. Speaking was liable to get her in trouble.
She's also rather wary of people, trusting them and becoming attached to them. So she had another reason to be quiet and/or not speak as she wasn't fully comfortable with most of these people and really, protect herself. She's a bit of a survivor, actually.
I like Auratera, it was different than just a massive city planet and had more things to play around. I think a major missed opportunity was Esla exploring the wilds on her own to remind herself of her upbringing, although she probably couldn't get very far. She had a clear favourite in Farissa as a big sister figure. It might have made a funny scene to poke the Sith but she was determined to stay clear of them. Finally, as mentioned elsewhere, I enjoyed the Vergences (both)!

I'm sure their relationship will grow and evolve, as to what, I really think it could go either direction at the moment. O_o
At the moment, Silas is kind of like a big brother. I suppose she had many other big brother figures among her peers too but she ended up closes with Silas.

No, far from an Ascetic. XD
She had a lot of money but I suppose had a life of just saving it up and being very cautious with it, as hinted during the shopping trip. Esla is differently quiet and reserved. Her first few meeting with strangers typically had her wary of speaking to them. It was an interesting RP experience and challenge. I suppose I was wary that it might annoy more players as it was probably like pulling teeth to talk to her. As mentioned above, she's used to standing out of the way and causing the least disturbance as possible. If anything could be done without words, she'd typically express herself in that fashion. She'd probably do better in groups of people she's not used to than pairs, if she's not comfortable with the person yet. She is rather comfortable in silence.

That's really cool, now you've said it I can totally imagine her as an 1800's maid

Esla was the girl who did the questions and I liked her, was that intentional for her to b so uncertain about everything?

So was Esla a fancy maid? Would love to know more of the backstory there. Zanja just assumed she was fancy full stop because she was so composed and put-together (and Zanja's understanding of class relations is quite black-and-white, let's be real
)
How do you think she might take to Farissa's Jedi Shadow adventures?

And thank you again for having me! It was a bit of a challenge getting into the Jedi shoes and I think I've managed, somewhat. I guess I was trying to find something to latch on past the backflips and the flashy beam swords. Thank you for the feedback.

That could be an interesting origin world if I knew about it. I suppose Centa was mostly handwaved with a bit of 1800 to 1920's decor in mind. Esla mentioned that there was some technology there thought the archaic was favoured stylistically for romantic reasons. I suppose they were also a bit backwards too.

Thank you for tolerating her multitude of questions and worrywart-ness. She was admittedly naive and admittedly anxious, although also guarded. I suppose it was very intentional as she would ask questions to gather opinions and facts from everyone around her to learn from them. She was rather concerned about failing and wanted to prove her worth as a Jedi.

How do you think she might take to Farissa's Jedi Shadow adventures?
Well, there were a few things revolving that yes. She wasn't originally from the world she served in, plunked from some dead fringe world and pressed into more or less indentured servitude for a wealthy lord, mainly serving as a personal maid to his daughter. Being discovered as a Jedi came a bit later and she was admittedly elevated from her station to become a member of the vassal family under the lord (as it was silly to keep the discovered Jedi-to-be as a maid). She didn't really stay much longer there afterwards before being whisked off her training.
I suppose with her apparent fancifulness, the truly wealthy on Centa were even more fanciful than her. However, to most other people, she could be legitimately mistaken as a noble? It was an intentional element to have the class blurred and admittedly it was something I considered toying on when I made the character but it never came up during play. I considered Esla pretending she was noble around others but I suppose I wasn't sure if she was completely capable of that level of petty deception.
It an interesting thought exercise, that's for sure. I suppose I found it quaint that she seems to get along well with Farissa, although they are also divergent people. She might admittedly do better in that work than on the first impression. She's still young and has to do a lot of learning but I think she'd be eager to learn and follow Farissa.
