Just to be sure I've got this right: if you succeed on your crafting roll, you get a regular Melee bladed weapon, but you can spend 3 Advantage to "improve" it to use the Lightsaber skill?

It also gets Defensive 1 as part of this.

Is something like a penknife (big enough to cut food or string or whatever, not big enough for a weapon) an item we can handwave, like... pants or whatever? I haven't found anything in the various gear lists that approximates it; closest thing is the combat knife, which I assume is BIG.

It sounds to me like an improvised weapon (small) if used as a weapon, but otherwise if it's just used for menial tasks (cutting food, whittling, cleaning nails or doing knife tricks) it's not something you need to buy. Kind of like clothes.

If it's something that's going to be used for something important like cutting bindings or ropes, etc, then you should invest in a combat knife. I will check my books for something though.

Just to note: that only applies to weapons that can functional *similarly* to a lightsbaber, so a sword. No axes with Lightsaber skill, pls.

Out of curiosity, is this available if we are attempting to make a Vibro sword? I assume not, but I'm curious.

I will go with no for combining it with Vibro, as I assume Vibro-weapons don't have the right balance to "emulate" a Lightsaber.

I don't feel comfortable with waving through all this stuff, as the (un)Ancient Sword as something to be crafted was already making me apprehensive, so I think we will keep it at regular swords for now with the (un)Ancient stuff.

Can we glean a rough estimate from the news reports? Eir spent the morning at the library, so I can make a Knowledge roll to search out relevant articles, if needed. Just wondering if we're talking about a handful of missing people, or dozens of missing people.
