Character Goals

#1 Postby Faily » Sat Feb 16, 2019 2:46 pm

Character goals!

After leaving Ilum, your character begins to embark on their life as a Jedi. And everyone is granted two goals post-game.

The first goal is a Story Goal. This allows a character to follow up on one story-hook or plotline encountered during the game. Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Lord Destrus' machinations on Auratera
- the presence of Gree on Ilum or Coruscant
- the assassination-attempt on a Republic senator on Coruscant
- the Ogon Trading Company's extending influence
- the dealings of Black Sun on Coruscant
- the shared vision in the crystal cave on Ilum
- clues about the lost world of Ossus
- catching the Big Fish on Auratera

The second goal is a Personal Goal. This can be anything as simple as helping the poor on Coruscant, or ambitious as negotiating with Sith, or searching for an artifact, but it must be something that can be achievable for the character (assassinating the Sith Emperor, or toppling an entire company or gang, is not).

We'd like to see these finalized by 9/3/19, Saturday, two weeks from now.

Feel free to ask us questions, and we're going to begin commenting on goals already posted if we haven't already.
Coo! | Almost elegant features | Fine but understated |

Ares:
Under the wing of Master Jaric, a trio of padawans begin to investigate the assassination-attempt on Senator Zirl Imogh.
Taime uses his natural charm to rub elbows with the more affluent members of Coruscant society, and begins to pick up more about who are the political rivals of the senator behind the scenes.
Byron have connections in the lower areas of Coruscant and along with Ares the two begin asking questions about who the Mandalorian trio had been doing business with prior to their arrest. After a few broken bones and sore noses, the two at least learn the name of a middleman who no doubt worked for someone closer to the true culprit.
***
On his birthday, Jaric and Ayura surprises Ares with a special present; the khyber crystal that belonged to his mother's lightsaber. Under the watchful eye of his master, Ares successfully constructs a second lightsaber. Now the spirit of both of his parents are with him in battle.
***
Many months pass for Ares, Byron, and Taime, in regards to their investigations. Sometimes they follow a lead that ends up being a dead-end, and sometimes they make great progress. But after a long time, they are able to pinpoint a great deal of clues in the direction of the Onderonian ambassador's staff. As Onderon is not part of the Republic, they cannot call on Republic law enforcement to make an arrest without solid evidence. However, thanks to Ares' connection to Ayura Moon, the daughter of a noble of Empress Teta, the group is able to secure invitations to a private event Empress Teta where the culprit will be. Their respective masters entrust the job to the three padawans, and their faith is well-placed as the trio are able to capture the culprit without violence or causing a scene, thanks to Taime's talents, and with some hard questioning from the budding Jedi Cop and the intimidating Ares, the attendant of the Onderonian ambassador confesses to having hired the Mandalorian hitmen to stoke the fires of discontent in the Republic Senate further, and that he was paid by a third party to do so. He suspects they were from the Sith Empire, but has no proof. It would seem the Sith are still playing dirty even with the truce...

Byron continues to train and refine his lightsaber fighting technique. His methodical method includes the writing down of his observations. As he shares these with others, some of Byron’s notes become incorporated in the curriculum for training new students. He begins to receive requests for training, as his talent is recognized. Even Drascovina compliments him on his newfound prestige.

Eir:
Upon returning to Coruscant, much of Eir's time is dedicated to looking into restricted files in the databases in the Jedi Temple to learn more about the Jedi Knight Sembylus. It takes a lot of effort, but she is able to discover holo-logs of his counselling sessions with an old Jedi healer. From watching the holo-logs, she learns that Sembylus had encountered Lord Destrus and had in a moment of weakness given in to the temptation of power, thinking he could save more people from the war with the Sith if he was stronger. The sessions go over a long time, and the very mentally and spiritually broken Sembylus share his personal pain with the healer as they process what he suffered while under the Sith's control. He admits to fearing that the consequences of his actions can have led to a child being born to Destrus' control.
***
Eir performs her duties, focusing on providing protection for their little group. As time passes, a distance grows between her and the others. Concerned, Chriala refers her for counselling. After a bit more time, and a number of sessions with the counsellor, Eir is given more freedom in her duties. The option of transferring her elsewhere is discussed.
***
Following up more about the Jedi Knight Sembylus, Eir discovers is that Sembylus was assigned to the remote Jedi enclave on the abandoned world of Taris, in hopes that he will be able to come to terms with the events and to begin healing his own wounds. As far as the records know, he is still alive.

Esla:
After some training from Farissa, Esla was ready to go on her first solo mission. The Black Suns were still active on Coruscant, and still involved in all sorts of nasty business. Esla began to investigate them, mostly keeping a low profile. Careful and patient observation proved to be her strength, and she was able to gather quite a bit of information on them. This culminates in the arrest of the leaders involved in one of the larger child-smuggling rings, striking a heavy blow to the gang’s power on Coruscant.
***
Esla is welcomed to the dangerous world of a Jedi Shadow as she joins her master Farissa into the spyworld. Their target is Jedi Knight Ardun Kothe, whom the Shadows suspect is skirting into dangerous territory by conducting covert missions against the Sith Empire. On one level they worry it can threaten the peace treaty, and on the other they are concerned about Kothe's own wellbeing and if he's possibly becoming too influenced by negative emotions. As Esla is an unknown in the Jedi Order so far, it gives the young padawan a safe way to approach Kothe as a young jedi interested in joining his cause.
***
Having become more trusted by Ardun Kothe, Esla is able to learn that the Jedi Kight has developed a solid powerbase of his own with agents doing his bidding to make covert strikes against the Sith. So far they are undiscovered and they are working on hampering the Sith from being able to build up their forces to attack the Empire. It is up to Esla if she wishes to report this back to Farissa, or let Kothe and his crew continue on...

O'vala:
O'vala travels to Corellia to meet her new master, Alysele Cortess. The Jedi Knight has been working tirelessly overseeing the diplomatic relations with the Imperials present as part of the diplomatic delegation from the Empire. Alysele shows O'vala around Corellia, and also introduces her to the Corellian Jedi, also known as the Green Jedi.
***
Spending some more time with the Green Jedi on Corellia, O'vala comes to find a different approach to the Jedi lifestyle, and some of them give her advice to how they handle matters of personal relationships and family ties. As they learn more about her too, the Green Jedi come to respect O'vala's courage and sense of justice, and they offer her to learn more of their ways if she is willing.
***
Auratera was not the only place that Lord Destrus had a lab, just the most recent. With a good amount of perseverance, O’vala is able to track down a secret base of his on an asteroid in the depths neutral space. She attacks it while he is there, freeing a group of prisoners. She confronts Destrus, and for a while it is lightsaber against dark lightning. In the end, the lab is destroyed, and the prisoners escape, but Lord Destrus escapes...

--------------

Silas:
Alongside Master Orgus, Silas travels to Corellia where the delegation of ambassadors from the Sith Empire have made their presence. However, it soon becomes clear to them that if the Sith were to plan for a military offense, they would not share such with the diplomats sent to the Republic, and the two quickly cut short their investigations there to avoid tipping off the Sith representatives.
***
Inspired by certain stories, Silas begins to study ways to make clothing for Jedi that is both protective and fashionable. After a fair amount of work, he comes up with designs that achieve this goal. Jedi Knight Farissa wears the first prototype on a mission. She attests to its protective qualities, as well as the many compliments that she received on its looks.
***
After careful planning, Orgus and Silas travel to the war-torn world of Balmorra. It has struggled for a long time against Imperial occupation, and is for the moment the closest thing they can come to a frontier world for the Empire without actually entering Imperial Space. As they move under cover as freelance journalists, they learn that there seems to be something happening in the higher echelons of the Sith as well as the Imperial military, but the two of them are unable to determine if it could be an offensive against the Republic in the works. However, it does bring them some news of the current events in the Empire, and it would seem that the Sith Emperor himself has stepped into the spotlight again...

Taime:
Under the wing of Master Jaric, a trio of padawans begin to investigate the assassination-attempt on Senator Zirl Imogh.
Taime uses his natural charm to rub elbows with the more affluent members of Coruscant society, and begins to pick up more about who are the political rivals of the senator behind the scenes.

After a few broken bones and sore noses, the two at least learn the name of a middleman who no doubt worked for someone closer to the true culprit.
***
When he's not busy pursuing clues about the assassination, Taime is focused on his work with Master Chriala. Taime's work with newly recruited younglings helps to cement his own training with the order. Perhaps more importantly, it also allows them an excellent model of behavior. The close bond that he forms with many of those that they find, or that begin their training on Coruscant, gives them something positive to cling to in those early days. He becomes known as “Big Brother Taime” to many of them, beginning with Glade.

---------------

Zanja:
There's a new gang in town: the Red Hawkbats! But while they're young and spunky, and do have a bit of flexibility as far as the law goes, they’re also impressively public spirited. Members of the “gang” usually end up leaving the streets sooner or later, making it work more like a youth group than anything else. They also enjoy a good relationship with the Jedi Zanja, and are more than happy to pass along information or tail a suspect for her.
***
As Zanja shares with her master, Corvin, details of what she saw on Auratera and in the cave where she encountered Lord Destrus, the pair decide to return to the bright planet. It takes them a few days to find the cave again, but now this time they have more time to take in the details more closely. The petroglyphs are ancient, depicting two moons with ancient symbols linking them closer together. The two cross-reference with the database of the Jedi Archives and discover that the symbols depict Ashla and Bogan - the two moons of the ancient world of Tython that the Jedi are quietly returning their attentions to. And they learn that in the days of old on Tython, those were the names of the two sides of the Force; the Light and the Dark. Interpreting the signs, it could seem that the world of Auratera might hold some link to the world of Tython through the Force.
What this could mean for what Destrus was doing, however, is a question that remains unanswered...

Zizzy:
Alongside Master Reikiss, Zizzy and her master are given the task by the Jedi Council to search for relics of the Jedi Order that has been lost or stolen. Among them are the Noetikons, a trio of special holocrons designed to sift through the vast storehouse of knowledge within the Jedi Temple Archives. The Noetikon of Secrets, is considered to be of great importance as it has access to knowledge that could potentially be dangerous, and it was stolen from the Jedi Temple at the start of the war with the Sith.
***
Zizzy is not without some spare time to do some of her own research. Investigative work allows Zizzy (and Camlen, of course) to track the path of the corporeal Camlen - towards Ossus. Unfortunately, the way to Ossus is fraught; the same stellar disaster that cut it off from the rest of the galaxy left numerous navigational hazards. Through careful study, Zizzy is able to find a likely path through; a small ship with an expert crew would have the best chance...
***
After months of searching, Padawan Zizzy and Master Reikiss are finally able to track down word of a Force relic being sold on a black market auction on the world of Makeb in Hutt space. They arrive in the nick of time, and manage to stop a Devaronian criminal, known as Tyresius Lokai, from running off with the Noetikon of Secrets when the two Jedi crash the auction-party. The slippery Tyresius manages to elude the Jedi, leaving them without answers as to how the Devaronian acquired the relic, but at least the item is safe. For now.
