Mandolorian Resurgance Invitation and Preview thread

Greetings! You have been selected to join the ranks of a newly formed Mandalorian Clan. In other words, you are invited to join a game ran by Nekoinu and Evencious!

It will be run using FFG’s Star Wars system. Lore will be taken from both Disney Canon and the old Legends EU, with no strict adherence to either. As the game is invite-only, the intended player base is smaller than typical games. The intention is to have closer communication between the players and the GM team.

The game will take place at the collapse of the Palpatine’s Galactic Empire after the events of Return of the Jedi. The current Mandalore, Bo-Katan Kryze, has tasked Rowan Laerrin with forming a new Clan. Each of the players has been recruited to join as initiates to this budding Clan.

One of the game’s primary themes is rebuilding. Since the players will be playing a pivotal role in this process, it is intended for all of you to shape the future of the Mandalorians and their way of life. Because if the clans have learned anything it’s that things can’t merely stay the same, and the best way to change it is to consider new points of view.

Kairi Laerrin

Summary:
Kairi is the firstborn child of Rowan and Treya. She was sent out by her parents to forge a future for herself when hope seemed to be lost on Mandalore. Her choice was to serve in the Alliance Special Forces. Further into the Galactic Civil War, she would take any opportunity to return to her family to help them in their fight against the Imperial regime on Mandalore.

In the Alliance Special Forces, Kairi was part of an entry team whose focus was boarding enemy spacecraft. From that, her preferred approach is a decisive offense, solving a potential situation before it evolves into an issue. This has often worked for her in the past and she possesses the physical acumen to back it up, to a certain extent.

Xavien Laerrin

Summary: The Resistance movement against the Galatic Empire was well underway when Xavien left the planet and his family behind. Half on his family's insistence for him to find his own way. Not that he could completely forget the plight of his parents and little sister back on Mandalore The Resistance needed supplies, weapons, medicine, and food among other things and he would be the one to help provide them. Which in a galaxy under the control of the Empire meant back channels, and black markets, Something he found he had skill dealing with.

The intervening years since he left Mandalore has seen Xavien brushing shoulders with bounty hunters, slavers, and worse as he formed a network of contacts in the galaxies underbelly. Something that has earned him the scorn of his older sister, but proved effective in keeping the resistance going. Even if the means he used aren’t ones most find acceptable.

Orella Laerrin

Orella is the youngest of the three children. Unlike her siblings, she never had the opportunity to make a name for herself. When the Rebellion erupted, she provided logistical support for the Mandalorian resistance and their allies in the Rebel Alliance. She remained in this capacity even when she came to age.

Due to her experiences, Orella possesses the most analytical capabilities out of her siblings. Even in her free time, she spent countless hours studying archives and hubs on the HoloNet. But this appreciation for numbers and data has not rendered her heartless. Her dream is to have a galaxy of cooperation after decades of tyranny.

5. The Galaxy right now is in a period of rebuilding, many of the staples of the past like the Jedi and Sith are a rarity. Additionally some Specializations just don’t make sense anymore. With that in mind the following are banned during Character Creation:

Treya Laerrin

Treya’s family was one of many exiled to Concordia. Her parents threw in their arms with the Death Watch but she chose another path, one she viewed had more honor than terrorist attacks. She wandered the galaxy as a mercenary until she met with Rowan. From then on, she raised their children and served as their ship’s pilot.

If there is one thing Treya’s children can agree on, it’s that she rarely smiles. Praise is reserved and lectures are strict, yet ultimately fair. She expects much from her children and the rest of the future generation of Mandalorians.

Life on Concordia wasn’t easy, and Rowan left it at an early age looking to seek his fortune out in the galaxy by the only means he knew: violence. He spent many of his younger years as a mercenary and bounty hunter making his way it what ways he could until he met his soon to be wife Treya.

They continued to explore the galaxy for a number of years as their family was born, until eventually returning to Mandalore wanting to see their peoples home. Life under Imperial rule wasn’t easy, but they made do. Though in time he joined with Bo-Katan Kryze, in efforts to free the planet. Where he served as one of the Mand’alor’s main commanders, eventually helping see his home freed.

His children know him as a quiet man, given to bouts of introspection. He is a loving father though, and given to more displays of affection then his wife.

Inali (Clow’inali’ounu)

Inali is something of the odd one out amongst the ship’s passengers. Neither a Mandolorian nor in training to be one, she seems to be an odd addition to the group. If asked though, she will explain that she is a Historian by trade, and here to observe the Clan as it grows. Her parents were fellow mercenaries and friends of Rowan and Treya, and when she found out that Rowan was granted his own clan she couldn’t help but jump at the chance to learn more.

Bright and cheerful by nature, she is very much not a warrior, but if you have questions of a historical nature she might be able to help.

Alister Kryze

Despite his relative youth, Alister is one of the few Master Armorsmiths remaining on Mandalore. On loan to the Laerrin family, it is his hope to find someone worthy of passing on his skill to among the initiates.

Alister is a widower, his wife having passed away in the Rebellion on Mandalore. He can come of withdrawn at times, apparently yet to be fully over his lovers death. His skill as a smith is the real deal though, though his skill as a teacher is still yet to be tested.
