The temple is under siege. An energy shield protects it from bombardment and artillery; it's crackling blue energy can be seen for kilometers around. Occasional flashes of light or explosions can be seen coming from inside.
Sith vehicles, both transport and combat, ringed the temple. Artillery was set up on the landing pad, preventing Republic reinforcements from arriving. Imperial troops man barricades, preventing anyone from getting in or out.
But the structure still stands. For now.
