Byron nodded, "Get in there... get those people out... I will keep the droid busy."

He drew his sword and added, "May the Force be with you." With that done he approached until he made sure the droid saw him and said, "You are definitely the droid I am looking for."

"I think this is a terrible idea," Kerren murmured as he saw Byron go out there in front of the cave opening.

"bzzzzt--- unauthorized sentient--- bzzzt--- please evacuate the premises---" the droid lumbered forward, not yet activating its weapons.

"Yeah, what?" Zanja echoed Kerren, incredulous. "The guy who was a Sith five minutes ago is going to 'take care' of us? Shove off." After a beat, she added--reluctantly--"No offense, Sek."

She crossed her arms and scowled at the distant droid. "It might be in comm contact with somebody who'll notice if it goes off station, so we got to make this quick. How fast d'you think we can take it out? If it's going to take too long, just drawing it off could be smarter."

She nodded as Byron took off and slunk forward too, staying low and out of sight.

Byron smirked and said, "But I have authorization."

He scanned the area for where he could draw off the droid.

Kerren only glared back at the spiky-headed girl, before looking back at the droid. "If we're going to take it out, it needs to be now."

It took about three seconds for Silas to figure out that his interpretation of draw the droid off, and Byron's were totally different. Still there really wasn't anything they could do about it now.

Deciding he would move last, he waved the others forward as he took a few moments to watch the droid. Maybe there would be a way to cause it to malfunction or over heat after all?

Byron continued to approach, moving at sn angle hopefully creating an opening for the group to exploit.

"Silly droid, maybe run a self diagnostic," he countered.

Zanja scowled harder and reached for her training saber, tensing to rush in. Unless Byron took off soon... and the problem with that is, I bet that thing has a blaster.

Difficulty for Silas very good Mechanics roll!: 3eD 1 failure, 1 threat
ImageImageImage

Silas can see that he can make it short-circuit if he can just get in a good shot or a stab at its processor-core. Thanks to the Triumph, he knows its exact location on this model from having seen it in a Vera Hawke episode.

Silas can make an attack roll at Hard Difficulty to target the processor-core directly, and with a Boost to it with his advantage.

.... I think we can have a quick initiative round here? At least with Droidy, Byron, Silas, and whoever else wants to jump out.

Cool for Initiative

Byron kept walking, the plan had to be adjusted due to the blasters but basically the same.

OOC: Ready.

Well, Plan A seemed like a bust; the droid was as stubborn as Byron. Zanja just hoped they could take it out quickly.

"Oh! I know this droid!" Silas exclaimed as he hopped into battle, maybe he could get it in its soft point.

Silas hopped to, it drawing his sword as he raced towards the droid. "We just need to stab it, in its processor core!" He exclaimed, though it seemed he wouldn't make it to the droid fast enough to help.

"It's two inches above it's torsos center actuator!" He continued, point out the area near it to Byron.

Zanja started running toward the droid, though with luck Byron would take care of it before she got there...

Byron quickly converted the inches into Imperial metric, because of reasons and nodded and then rushed forward aiming for the weak spot. The droid reacted with a standard combat protocol but Byron was already prepared for that vaulting up onto one limb and then over the droid in an athletic leap. The weak point was exposed and he stabbed the blade through leaving it embedded as it hopefully began to collapse.

He landed behind it as the droid tried to sputter another warning but Byron replied, “I expected something more... cinematic.”

There was a surge of energy as the droid hopefully shutdown the sword expelled by the powerful kickback right back into his waiting hands. Byron had to mull that over and counted it as an explosion.

“Nailed it,” he muttered.

OOC: Successful for 6 wounds and the seven advantage for cinematic hijinks and successful shutdown because seven advantage.

Lightsaber + Aim + Destiny: 2eP+2eA+1eB+3eD 1 success, 7 advantage

The droid sputtered a few more warnings. "Bzzzt---resistance is fut...ile....bzzzt--- one seco...nd...to... com---bzzzzzzt...." And then it went dead as its processor core was gone.

There was nothing stopping them now from exploring the excavated cave.

"Ha! Just like on Vera Hawke." Silas exclaimed as he trotted up alongside Byron, eyes more on the droid then the older boys acrobatics.

"Doesnt look like we need to worry about this guy anymore..." Or stealth really. "Should we head inside?"
