"Do you avoid assigning padawans to knight that don't conduct themselves properly then?" Silas asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. Master Din had said some jedi weren't too good at diplomacy.

"Ah... That I didnt seem like I thought of myself as special? Or come off as all high and mighty." The you g man admitted after a moment. "He wont get in trouble for saying that, will he?"

That question made Orgus' forehead crease. "We do our best to make sure that there's a good match between master and padawan. Sometimes that doesn't happen, which is often hard on the padawan. We've had good folks leave the Order over that." He cleared his throat. "Some knights make poor teachers. If their behavior goes beyond that..." He shrugged.

The next question, though, made him chuckle. "No, of course not. But it does sound like a good example of what I meant." He gave Silas a smile. "It sounds like you did well. Many in the order struggle to remain humble while giving proper attention to our powers, and the responsibilities they bring. It's a bit of a balancing act."

That wasn't a direct answer to his question, but it was close enough, still Silas decided not to press too much. "So is that what this is about?" Silas asked cautiously after a moment. "At least in part? Getting to know the trainee's a bit better and where they need to approve so you can better assign them to a knight?" It seemed likely, but he couldn't be quite certain.

"I find smiling helps!" Silas offered with a grin. "Though that's mostly with humans, I read it doesn't work so well with every species in the galaxy. But I likely need to think on that a bit more as well." He paused thoughtfully. "I can't help people if they don't trust me after all."

"This debate, or the trials?" Orgus chuckled. "Either way, the answer is yes. We don't just need to see if you're ready. We need to see what kind of ready you are."

"Exactly." He nodded. "If someone doesn't trust you, before you can help them, you've got to build that trust. And it's a lot easier to destroy than build; that's true for a lot more than trust. That's another thing to be careful of."

He nodded that made quite a bit of sense now that he thought about it. It also made him curious about what areas the Masters thought he needed to grow.

"That's true." He offered with a grin. "Take Valee's Training Saber for example. She broke it in an instant, and it will take me at least five or six hours to put it back together, if I can even manage it. That doesnt even take into account the time it will take her to get the parts either!"
