That one...was a little tougher to answer. "Well...certain actions align with certain parts of the Force. For a Jedi, they must strive to find their way to the actions that help all individuals and not become overcome by selfishness or desire."

"And how can you tell if your actions will do that or not?" Chriala spoke in an even, measured tone.

[Taime Jorel]

His mind stuttered and a little panic kicked in underneath. "I....I don't know. I will have my feelings as a guide, but...they can be misguided or suborned. If I am honest with myself, I should be able to see but...even a Jedi can lie to themselves."

After a moment, Chriala gave him a gentle smile. "Taime... it seems that you lack confidence in yourself."

He looks down at the ground. "I can't help but think of why my family sent me here. They worried of me becoming...unbalanced. Unhoned, like others before. I can't help but wonder if they were right. Whenever I make a mistake, I wonder if this is the first step on a path I do not wish to be on. "

He takes a deep breath. "It is like a wave, that laps away at my foundations. I am trying to learn how to conquer it though."

Chriala's expression was not especially harsh, but it softened further. "You don't have to face it alone, you know. You never do."

[Taime Jorel]

He nods, though his expression is still somewhat shamed. "I know. But...you are busy these days. I do not wish to be a burden."

"You aren't a burden. You're family." She said simply, still smiling.

He was not going to cry. He was not going to cry at all. This was ridiculous. He knew they were family. It..had just been a long time since it had been said out loud.

"You are right. I forget the ways of my people in saying so. Thank you...Chriala."

Chriala reached out, gently patting him on the knee. "You'll do fine, Taime. I know you will."

She sat up, still smiling. "Well. Perhaps you should come by for some tea later. We can have a proper debate about that. What makes the best tea, how hot it should be. That sort of thing."

He chuckles, surreptitiously passing his hands over his eyes. Something in them, obviously. "That would be lovely. I still maintain you steep your green tea at too high a temperature. You lose all the flavor that way."

[Chriala Hulis]

Her lips quirked. "I maintain that it scarcely matters, since all tea is essentially hot leaf juice, anyway. Change my mind."

Taime would know that Chriala took her tea seriously; this probably didn't represent her real position.

Taime took a small breath. "That may be its technical description but it does not describe it in totality. Just as a planet is a rock filled with liquid rock and covered in plants, but it doesn't encapsulate the totality of the planet. You can't....boil it down to such a small essential." He said with a small smirk.
