Eir retrieved the discarded training saber and offered it to Master Jaric, "I'm sorry to hear that." She couldn't imagine what kind of drama a girl that attractive could be suffering, it seemed to Eir that being pretty was a good answer to most problems.

Zanja wrote:"Shien." Zanja scowled. "Still needs a lot of work." Esla might be getting the impression that Zanja just wasn't a particularly cheerful looking young person most of the time--perhaps there was nothing personal about it.
"It seems you're doing okay," she offered in encouragement with a faint smile. It perhaps wasn't her place to know fully how to gage her expertise. Considering her first lessons had her stumblings and dropping her practice weapon a few times, she knew she was way better than pitiful at the very least. "...I probably need to work on it just as much as you."

"The best defense is getting the drop on the other bastard without having to fight him, anyway." Zanja concluded with a gravelly chuckle. "Or, uh, peace, obviously. Maybe peace because you already got the drop on everybody."

Esla couldn't help but give an abrupt blink at Zanja. She could help but think of their time on the tour earlier today about ganking the competition. Surely, she wasn't talking about that, right? Maybe she was.
She smiled faintly and gave a few nods of her head. "You're provably right...peace would get the jump on everyone. Far less bad things happening to people that way. Better for everyone."

With a nod, Jaric accepted the training weapon. "We all have our problems, big or small," he offered stoicly. "Continue as you were, student Eir."
