[D0 A] Emotion, yet Peace

[Eir]

Eir had found a relatively quiet corner of the gardens. There, she had folded up her cloak, set it on the ground, and sat, legs folded into the lotus position. She brushed a loose strand of hair over to the right side, rolled her shoulders, and straightened her back. There was a training saber clipped to her belt and a cylindrical vessel attached more firmly next to that, over her hip. It was this vessel that she now unfastened, pressing a small button and sipping from the opening that appeared.

Putting the water bottle away, the half-arkanian closed her eyes, shutting off the soft glow that emanated from them, and took a deep breath. Calm, peace, she thought to herself, trying to tame her racing thoughts.

[Mir]

Some moments later soft steps could be heard approaching the secluded nook. The soft steps were accompanied by muted shuffle of cloth. One did not have to be force sensitive to tell that someone was coming. Then there was a soft murmur of a cough. "I didn't knew you were here. Sorry. Was looking for a quiet place."

[Eir]

Eir cracked one eye open and shrugged, “it’s fine, that’s why I picked here, too.” She opened her glowing eyes fully and looked at Mir, studying the cat-person, trying to get a sense of his emotional state.

[Mir]

Slightly nervous would have been the best emotion to describe the young Farghul. Nervous and excited. "Trying to figure what to do with my paws before the trials begin. There's only so much one can do. " his blue eyes glanced in her direction. "Mediation seems prudent. If one could focus as easily."

[Eir]

Eir nodded slowly, she was familiar with the feeling, "well, you aren't going to accomplish anything standing around like that." With an upwards nod, she gestured for Mir to sit somewhere.

[Mir]

The feline humanoid two steps towards Eir before sweeping his long cloak back, sitting down on the grass. "Yet the time doesn't pass any faster sitting either. I tried." Mir chuckled, his voice scratchy. "Passion, yet serenity." his ears twitched as something caused the tree leaves flutter in the distance. "Yet it's bit hard to be serene." he glanced at the direction of the tower. "Though I guess it really doesn't matter how things go."

[Eir]

"No," she agreed mildly, thinking back on her conversation that morning with Taime. Eir tried to mentally shake off the creeping melancholy that kept coming with thinking about her quasi-brother leaving ,"you know, for a farghul, I would have thought you'd be a little stealthier."

[Mir]

"I could have been." Mir smirked with a mischievous gleam in his eyes. "Most people don't take well when you sneak on 'em. Tryin' to be polite and proper." his hand moved to his neck almost unconsciously. "No need to hide here."

Glancing in the general direction of the city, Mir squinted his eyes. "What you think of the news? The music group? You know such things, don't you." At least he thought she hadn't grown on a backwater planet. "Are they any good?"

[Eir]

With a half-shrug, "I wouldn't know, I don't listen to much music. What's their name, again?"

[Mir]

Mir blinked and tilted his head to the side. Four Shik? Frog Shit?" he frowned, his eyebrows furrowing. "I'm not sure. Probably not Frog Shit."

[Eir]

Eir made an amused snorting sound, "frog shit, probably better than whatever their real name is." Frowning, "you haven't been here long, yeah?" She could vaguely recall first seeing him a few years ago, and had assumed that he'd come from one of the other Temples.

[Mir]

"Well. 4 years." Mir's ears slanted to the side as if he was ashamed. "I was 11 when Pollo brought me in." Pollo, an elderly human jedi with hawkish features had literally dragged the cat in. Mir might have preferred the term 'brought' but in fact he had been cat-napped. Not that he minded Pollo's decision.

[Eir]

Watching Mir's expressive ears with interest, "you too, huh? For me it was Master Hulis. Kicking and screaming and all." There hadn't been any actual kicking or screaming, but it hadn't exactly been a dignified moment in Eir's life.

[Mir]

"Well, no masters end on hellholes like Doloran." Mir continued, his ears remaining slanted. "I was lucky someone did." he shrugged and Eir could feel the young ferghul feeling a little uncomfortable "Takes a while to understand what's the best for you." Mir nodded. To him that hadn't taken too long. The moment he realized he'd get a ceiling on his head and free food as long as he listened to people he had come to terms with his abduction.

[Eir]

Noticing his discomfort, she decided to back down, things were tense enough with the trials starting in the morning. "I think I've seen you sparring, you have a pretty defensive technique, right? Who have you been learning from?"

[Mir]

Mir's ears perked. "Thanks. Farissa. She's pretty lean with her form." A paw moved out turning sow that his palm was turned upwards before pulling out to the side as if he was deflecting something. "Shien uses the aggression of the enemy against them. Though, Farissa says that the form is too aggressive for some." there was a hint of pride in his tone. "But you know how they are." They being the jedi. "Of one mind, but..." he grimaced, leaving the implication hanging in the air.

[Eir]

“Sheesh,” Eir rolled her eyes, “if what you do is too aggressive, I wonder what she thinks of Juyo.”

[Mir]

"No no. She's fine with the fifth. But you know, some who teach the second or third form think that the fifth is too... hands on." It seemed that Mir had some difficulties finding a suitable word. "Juyo... eh. Now there's an interesting form for sure." Mr flicked out his paw as if to strike down an invisible enemy. "They aren't messing around and sometimes..." Mir swallowed. "It sounds like it makes sense. Chaos, yet harmony."

"If you strike first and hard, aligning yourself with the world in a proper manner... surely you can act well."

[Eir]

“So, that works for you, huh? The using their aggression against them, huh?” She was curious about the way Mir motioned as he spoke about the combat styles, it seemed almost meditative. “Mostly all I got taught was avoiding getting hit.”

[Mir]

"That's the way of the shien." Mir confirmed. The second form is the most secure. The seventh the most aggressive." He didn't even pause to think - chances were that Eir knew what he was telling her. "Choice of a form is a compromise. I chose shien as it lets me face many at a time." he flexed his claws for a moment. "One can hardly ensure that the enemy fights fair and square."
