Exploration Unknown. (Day 5 LM, Jedi Temple)

#1 Postby Silas Myles Pearson » Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:14 am

Silas had heard there was a Jedi temple here, and since he was already kinda on his way here, he decided to come see after the mornings attempt at communicating with the Kilik.

He wasn't sure if it was occupied though, and his eyes were open for things of interest as he walked towards the entrance.

The light of the day was already bright, and the air was growing stifling and uncomfortable. And yet, as Silas approached the entrance of the temple, there was a gentle breeze.

Trees had grown up right to the edge of the temple, and possibly more; green could be seen poking out of nooks and crannies here and there. Curious eyes blinked down at him from a nearby tree, perhaps some sort of squirrel or lemur.

It certainly was a pleasant spot they had picked, of course that might just be gardeners at work. Either way the breeze was a relief when it hit his skin.

"Hello." He smiled a greeting at the Lemurs, or squirrels or whatever they were and took a step in their direction.

"Nice place you have here." He mused as he surveyed the area.

In a moment, three pairs of eyes were blinking down at him. There was a brief burbling consultation, then the lemurs continued to stare at him.

It was the only answer he'd get from them.

"Not very talkative are you." Silas mused as he looked back towards the temple. It was pretty neat, and ne really wanted to take a better look at it, so he started strolling around the grounds eyes open for more animals, as well as anything else potentially of interest.

Would this be a good place to plant apple trees? Maybe he could find one in the area, that would be his answer.

There didn't seem to be any apple trees that Silas could see. While there was plenty of plant life, and a good bit of animal life, it all seemed wild. The lemurs followed him as he walked around, jumping from tree to tree.

Indeed, the temple looked and felt deserted of all humanoid life.

"Huh." Still it couldn't hurt to try inside so moving back the way he came he approached the entrance.

"Um, is anyone here?" He asked knocking on the temple doors. Perhaps that would get a reaction.

The door in question was paired, heavy, and wood; either recent, or somehow preserved. Knocking on it made it move slightly, as it was apparently unbarred. Except for the sound of his knock, there was no other reaction.

Was the place empty? That meant it was adventure time! Pulling a glowrod out of his utility belt he stepped pushed the door slowly open. He didn't rreally have much experience with abandoned places, but from what he understood they were usually dark, so he flicked the beam of the glowrod on as he stepped inside.

As it turned out, it was... medium-dark. A surprising amount of light seemed to make its way into the halls, whether by design, or because of wear. Vines adorned the walls, and the roots of trees pushed through entirely in some places.

The corridor opened up into a slightly larger chamber. It was empty, save for three other exits, one on each wall, asymmetrically placed.

A small burbling came from above; lemur eyes peered down at Silas through a hole in the ceiling.

"I guess you guys are the only people who live here then?" Silas said to the Lemurs as he pointed his glow rod around the room.

Three paths? Well, it was good he'd played alleyways and Acklays over message boards. Else he'd never have come to know the importance of the right wall search. So with that in mind he stepped towards the rightmost path. Maybe there would be something interesting in this direction?

Along the corridor, there were a number of rooms. Some scattered pieces of what looked like it was once furniture remained in some of them, now long lost to the ravages of time. Clearly, people had lived in these rooms at some point.

All the doors were open, and the corridor continued on as well.

Well it didnt look like anyone left in a hurry, which made it a bit odd for it to be abandoned. Very curious, it had obviously been empty for quite a while.

Taking a moment to peek in to every room for anything of interest, Silas then continued down the corridor, that is if he didnt find anything.

There was a little something, in fact, as he passed by. Something carved on the wall, by where the bed used to be.

Closer examination would find that it was a heart, with "RJ+KR" written within.

That was definitely the initials of a pair of lovers, most likely young ones. Older people didnt seem the type to carve stuff like this in walls after all.

Pulling out his datapad he snapped a picture of it, for curiosity's sake more then anything. The beliefs of the order har changed over the years, perhaps this was a mark of that. Of course it could just be local kids that came to make out too. He had really no idea how to date this kind of thing.

Slipping his datapad back into his pocket he continued his way down the corridor. He likely didnt have time to explore the entire facility, but he'd see as much as he could.

The corridor turned this way and that, but except for more rooms, it didn't branch off, just kept winding about. If there were more corridors, it would be almost like a maze, but there weren't.

The corridor opened into a very large room indeed, with a few more corridors emptying into it. Light shown down from above, but the stone kept everything cool. Plant life grew in abundance.

It was a very peaceful scene.

Wow, this certainly was pretty. Taking out his datapad, he took a few pictures of the Area. Some of the others might think it was cool as well, and he was a bit excited to show them when he got back.

Still it really did seem time to start a map of this place, at least a rudimentry one, So finding a good place to do that he began to make a rudimentry map. Including land marks to identify where he entered from; more pictures would help with that, itds probably take a bit, but it was a good idea to know where he came from if he was going to explore this big chamber.

When finished, he rose to his feet and began exploring, the off shoot corridors were intresting, but this room seemed like it used to hold some importance and he wanted to find out why.

As far as Silas could tell, except for the abundance of plant life, the room didn't have much of note in it. On the other hand, there was definitely a feeling of peace and serenity.

Perhaps it was just the general atmosphere of the place.

It was a pretty cool place, he'd have to try and get some of the others to come have a look around with him.

Still he couldn't help but pause in the center of the room and attempt to feel around with the force, not that he was really all too good at sensing anything. Besides maybe machines

Silas could feel the Force, pure and untainted, flowing all around him. Unfortunately, to him, it was rather like feeling sun on your face but without being able to open your eyes.
