[D1 EM] Breakfast of Champions?
Ares settled down to the mess hall, his tray packed fully with everything on offer: plain but tasty fare, mainly oat meal, bread and some blue milk. 3 plates of each.
He nervously took a gupl of milk, and started at the food. Truthfully, he wasn't too hungry, he'll probably only take a single serving today, but he knew his body and mind needed the energy, so he dug in.

“Crispy bacon, scrambled roulash eggs, spicy sauce… ooh not even sure what this is but it smells delightful! I want my bacon in my belly, and you delicious fruits will be the perfect finisher to a wonderful meal,” Byron said as he set his tray down on the table with plates piled high with food.
“Morning Ares, hope the Force brought you a wonderful bounty this day. Oh I ran into Zizzy, told her to track you down she wants to learn from the best so I sent her your way.”
He started in on the bacon and added, “Prepare yourself for all the questions.”

"Oh? Sure, I'll help her. Or try to at least." He shrugged. "It's all just practice practice practice after all."
He took a large gulp of oatmeal, practically inhaling the stuff. "I hope so. Don't know what they'll ask us... hopefully not history. I suck at it."

"Just answer with Revan," Byron mused.

"Oh, who founded the order? Revan did it. Sure, it will work well." He drank a mug of milk, before putting it down. "Any plans who you would like to study with after we pass? Or if we pass?"

“I would believe it, Revan was a pretty polarizing figure but if you want some real help I know a few texts you could study that will impress the teachers. As for who to follow, I don’t know, I will trust in the Force to guide my Master to me in due time,” he replied thoughtfully.

"So you will throw dice?" Ares asked with a smirk. "Though a few texts wouldn't go amiss."

“I just… well to me the force is like the void of space-time… and objects emanate gravity right? Well whatever, just that in time certain objects will begin to attract toward one another, some will collide violently while others will fall into a harmonious relationship in a stable orbit. I am hoping for the latter if that makes sense,” he said after finishing a mouthful of eggs.
“Look up the collected essays of Master Syo, really good reading for grasping historical context of the Jedi. It’s dense reading but go over it a couple time and it will stick.”

Ares nodded, while gulping down some more food. "I'll look into Master Syo later today. As for making sense... it made as much sense as some stuff that I learned here." He smiled. "Though you should be ready for violent collision if it comes to it."

“Well Ares, that is one of my skills, I am always ready for a violent collision,” he joked.

"So you're like one of those dumber asteroids that is neve gonna change course?" Ares asked with a smile, before eating more slop.
"Sorry for that. But yeah, someone has to be ready. It's our job to protect others."

"You realize that asteroids don't change course unless acted upon by outside forces..." he said considering the response.
"It's a calling, I don't get paid to do this. It's what we were meant to be."

"I actually don't. I flunked astrogation, remember?" Ares asked with a smirk. "Didn't mean job that way. More like... duty."

Byron chuckled and replied, “Well then we better make it the best and biggest duty we can.”

"Oh yeah. The sith should watch out for the dutiful asteroids." He let out a chuckle. "Sounds like a good name for a band?"

“That actually would be a great name,” he agreed.
“We may actually have to face a Sith one day… I am not even sure if I am ready for that, someone so dedicated to evil and darkness to only know hate and suffering… like what kind of person does that to themselves?”

Ares nodded solemnly. "I... don't know." He fell silent. He knew a sith, once. Before she was sith. Whateve was the reason for her turning? He pondered on it, but could not realize. "Whatever the reaosn, we need to stop them from hurting others."

“Well we don’t need to worry about that yet, should stay focused on what we can do now. Plus with the Peace, maybe we have a chance to make it really last. Maybe we can be the last generation of Jedi to have to worry about the Sith…. Maybe they just destroy themselves,” he said thoughtfully.
“Not sure if that is any better though.”

"I fear some would turn our way sooner or later." He sighed. "It would be good, but I am afraid it won't be. The sith don't strike me as unified in peace. Or much of all."

“I wish I had more time to talk to Layne, she used to be one of them… think Jedi Baesal was too, but she seems far too nice to have been a Sith, so, hard to believe. Maybe you can knock some justice into their heads and get them to see the Light,” he offered.
