Do you Camlen here often? [D7, EA, Jedi Temple]

[Zizzy Roosh]

The report that Zizzy had received from Master Chriala, detailing the investigation of Master Xho's death, had of course thrown up more questions than answers. She decided to bring Camlen to the calming environment of the central Jedi Temple chambers. It seemed like the best place to be given the circumstances. Plus it was awfully hot outside.

She set the holocron down along with her notes and the copy of The Living Force. Touching the holocron she hoped this wouldn't be too tough on her friend.

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen responded instantly to her touch, flickering into view.

"Hello, Zizzy." He said, smiling cheerfully. He looked happy to see her; perhaps not quite as excited as when she'd been wearing the swimsuit, but, well, that was a special occasion.

His eyebrows went up. "Oh. We're in the Jedi temple, aren't we? I can feel it." The little figure took a deep breath, chest rising and falling.

[Zizzy Roosh]

She smiled back sweetly. "Hey you. Yeah, good guess. I thought it would be good for you to feel all this positive energy. It's a pretty special place." If the lemurs had appeared right then she wouldn't have been surprised.

"Do you feel the passage of time in there Camlen? It feels like a long time since we spoke. Busy few days of training."

[Hatoful GM]

In fact, if Zizzy looked very carefully, she would see the trio of lemurs peeking down from gaps in the ceiling.



After a moment of consideration, Camlen shrugged. "Not really. Sometimes I get the sense of you coming or going." He smiled. "But it's kinda like being in a light sleep. It's only once I wake up again that I get any sense of how long it's been."

"Yeah, it is nice." He looked at her carefully. "A few days, huh. Did you..." He pursed his lips a moment, "... have you had your trial yet?"

[Zizzy Roosh]

"We're being watched." She pointed up at the ceiling for Camlen's benefit.

Her expression turned a little more serious as she responded to the question. "Yes. It was yesterday. It wasn't what I expected. At all. But I think I understand it now, and I think it went as well as these things can go."

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen followed her direction up, squinting slightly. He chuckled when he spotted the lemurs. "Oh. Hello there." He waved, grinning. The lemurs burbled a bit, looked at each other, then back down at the pair.

"Oh, good." He breathed. "I know they can be a little rough. Mine wasn't too bad..." He smiled. "I figured you'd do fine. Did you want to talk about it? Don't have to, of course." He shrugged. "But, well, as a friend, it seems like offering the friend thing to do."

[Zizzy Roosh]

Her tendrils wafted lightly as she nodded. "Yes, it went well I think. Remember that temple in my dream? That's where I was. There was a book. Well it became different books, but the important thing is that I only read the good versions."

She watched a lemur scurrying across to a different viewpoint. "Deep Secrets."

[Hatoful GM]

"So that was your dream temple, huh? That's interesting." Camlen considered that for a moment. "Deep Secrets?" He echoed her, his expression curious.

"In mine, I remember I was walking a path. And it was dark and cold, but my friends were there supporting me. But... one by one, they disappeared." He shook his head, frowning. "Like I said, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't exactly rush out to give it another go." He said with dry humor.

[Zizzy Roosh]

"That was the name of the last book I read. Forbidden Knowledge sounded like a bad idea..."

She nodded as he recounted his own vision quest. "Sometimes you have to walk a lonely path to do the right thing. But hey, here we are." A more cheerful smile appeared on her face.

"Okay Camlen. I've done some digging, and now I'm hoping maybe we can figure out a bit more of your puzzle. Let me know if you find you have access to more memories. Or can tell me about them, however it works. I'm starting to think that Master Xho created you specifically because he thought he might die. So you might have the solution to the mystery, although I'm guessing he would want to make sure that you only gave it to the right sort of person."

[Hatoful GM]

"Yeah." Camlen's smile was warm. "Here we are."

He sobered quickly. "Yeah. That sounds about right. Master Xho was always trying to think six steps ahead."

For a moment, he frowned in deep concentration, but then he shook his head, grimacing. "Sorry, nothing new. Not since the other night." An apologetic smile flickered across his face. "I don't know how it works."

[Zizzy Roosh]

"That's okay, maybe there are triggers. Key lines of questioning or something like that? It doesn't really matter."

She pulled out the case files. "There was a report on Master Xho's death. It was compiled by a team of Jedi Investigators. There are a few interesting things in it, but importantly it says that Matter Xho was at peace when he died. I thought you'd want to know that Camlen."

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen closed his eyes for a moment, but nodded. "Yes. Thank you, Zizzy."

His eyes opened. "What else? Any good leads?"

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy looked at the report and then back at Camlen. "I don't know about good leads, but there are a few things we need to follow up. First of all how well do you remember Master Xho's workshop, or base, or whatever it was? And as a follow up question, can you remember exactly when he made this holocron of you?"

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen brushed a hand through his hair. "Well, for the second part, it would have been about six years ago. I was seventeen; I'd been his padawan about a year."

"For the first, yeah, I remember it. And there's something I want to try. Can you focus on our Force-bond?"

[Zizzy Roosh]

Frond-like tendrils stirred as she nodded. "Sure. Let's see what you can do."

Zizzy drew her attention to the bond between them. It was simple enough to notice it, but she gave it the full tendrils. "Ready when you are."

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen frowned, clearly concentrating. The sense of him grew stronger, almost tangible, and then...

... it was a moderately large room; it had to be, because it had so much equipment, with a generous amount of space around each. Some of it was easily recognizable, but some of it wasn't. What was that sphere in a holder, over there in the corner? Focus moved around the room, from device to device, tracing over the white tiles, noting the chill of coming from the far wall... a desk near the front, and one near the back, papers on the front... an older Cerean Jedi was sitting at the desk. He looked up with a smile...

"Whoa." Camlen, shook his head. One hand brushed across his face, and then up through his hair. "I wasn't sure that would work. But holocrons were made for teaching. It makes sense that they could show you things, sometimes."

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy shook her head in amazement. "Whoa! It's like I was really there! I could see Master Xho."

It was incredible. Maybe this was what the Cerean had had in mind. Something occurred to her.

"Camlen, can we go back in? There's this piece of equipment that I think might explain something. It's about this big and..." She described the Gree device that they had used to find the holocron in the first place. Was it there somewhere, in the lab?

[Hatoful GM]

Camlen blinked. "Oh, yeah, that thing. I remember that. Master Xho usually kept it on him, though. I don't think we'd see it if we went back in." He grimaced. "Besides, that takes a lot out of me. Sorry."

[Zizzy Roosh]

Zizzy just grinned back at him. "That's okay, I don't need to look at it - you just answered my question. You see, that's how we found you. Holocron you."

She tapped her chin as she thought about the chain of events. "How good a pilot are you Camlen?"

[Hatoful GM]

"Uhhh..." Camlen smiled sheepishly. "I'm not an ace or anything. But I've taken my hand at the controls from time to time."

He smiled at her, his eyes almost glinting with interest. "Seems like you're putting together a theory, Zizzy."
