[D8 EM] Glade to Have You

[Eir]

Admittedly, when Eir urged the ithorian girl to join the Jedi, she didn't think they'd be taking her to Ilum. She thought the kid would have a few days to say goodbye to her parents and someone from Coruscant would collect her. The half-arkanian felt bad about subjecting the kid to the frozen ravages of the ice planet (even if Glade did get to stay inside). First thing in the morning, Eir sought out the girl to check up on her.

[Glade]

She found Glade just coming out of a room. The little Ithorian girl was bundled up in so many layers she looked like a ball.

"Oh!" Glade's face, surrounded by hoods and scarves, brightened. "Eir! Did you see what it's doing out there?" She hummed, clearly excited.

[Eir]

"Morning," Eir smiled, she'd been practising her ithorian hard over the journey and was almost competent, for someone with non-ithorian biology. "I believe it is snowing," she took a guess at Glade's question.

[Glade]

"Good morning, Eir." Glade said, automatically polite.

The little mound of fabric bounced a little bit. "Yes! It's snowing! Have you ever seen it snow before?"

[Eir]

Chuckling at the infectious cheer coming from the rotund bundle, "no, I haven't. Do," Eir glanced around conspiratorially, "do you want to build a snowman?" That was a thing people did, right? She'd seen it in holoshows.

[Glade]

"A snowman? Yes! I'd love to!" There was a pause; from the vague rotation of Glade's scarcely visible face, she was probably tilting her head.

"I've never seen snow before. What's a snowman?"

[Eir]

"Well, it is like a person made out of snow," Eir explained, according to her holo-education. "You, um, roll the snow up and make a big ball, and then you make another ball, and put it on top, and then you put a face on it." That sounded about right.

[Glade]

"That sounds great!" She paused, considering. "How do you put the face on? Can you draw in snow?"

[Eir]

Thinking, "I don't know, but I think I have an idea. You ready? It's very cold out there."

[Glade]

"Yeah! I'm ready! Unless..." Again, her head tilted, somewhere in there. "Do you think I have enough clothes? I don't want to be cold." It was a little unclear if it was possible for her to be wearing more clothes without suffocating.

[Eir]

"I think you'll be okay," at least, Eir hoped so, she would have to keep a close watch on the kid, "make sure you tell me if you get too cold."

[Taime Jorel]

Hearing the voice of Eir and the little Ithorian in the hall, he wandered out, hoping to catch them. He had more than a bit of experience with being packed off with the Jedi without too much warning and he hoped he could help the newest one out with his experience.

He saw them in the hallway and waved. "Heyla you two. What's your plan for today?"

[Eir]

"T'ame," she grinned, they'd been stuck on that ship for a week and she was sure that the nagai and the ithorian had at least met. To Glade, "do you have your translator?"

[Taime Jorel]

He knelt down to look at Glade more at her eye level. "I'm glad you're with us. Let me or Eir know if anything's confusing. We know what its like for this process to be a bit...fast."

[Glade]

"Uhhhhh..." She scratched her head, or at least, the outermost layer of clothing over her head. "Yeah, it's in here somewhere. Just a minute..."

It took a bit of fiddling around before she finally managed to get it turned on, and then dressed again.

"Hello Taime!" Now, with the aid of the translator, speaking basic. "We're gonna go make a snowman. That's where you make some balls with the snow, and put a face on the top ball. Oh, because you put the balls on top of each other. Have you ever done it before?"

[Eir]

"What she said," Eir chuckled, "wanna come with us?"

[Taime Jorel]

He chuckled. "That sounds lovely. I've never made one before, so Eir will have to tutor us both. I'm sure she'll be quite good at it though." He said with a bright smile.

[Glade]

"Okay, great! We'll just have to decide whether to make one big snowman, or three little ones. I think one big one!"

She led the way towards the airlock at the entrance.

[Eir]

Eir found Glade's hand from the bundle of clothing, and held it as they made their way outside, buffeted by the icy winds, and this was supposed to be the warm season.

[Taime Jorel]

Taime pulled up the hood of his cloak. He wouldn't have to worry about sunburn here but frostbite was a real concern. "Wow. That's a big chance from Dewbright."
