[D0 A] Emotion, yet Peace

[Eir]

Confused, "how did that work? Like, you were a slave, and then there was a Jedi, and you thought he was going to kill you?"

[Mir]

"Well. I was hungry and cold a lot. We scavenged scraps for food. And then my mother went missing. And.." he gulped and there was an overwhelming aura of sadness around him. Mir's gaze dropped as his ears drooped down. "Things happened. They made me run messages. I bumped to Pollo who was there on business." the sadness mixed with confusion. "Still not sure why he was there. I thought he was going to stab me or something. Then I got catnapped."

"Next thing, boom. Coruscant. Food, bed. And four years later I'm here."

[Eir]

There were a lot of gaps in Mir's story, but the girl didn't press. "Maybe he was looking for people like you? I dunno why they catnapped you, though. I was lured here by the promise of a free lunch."

[Mir]

"Dunno. We didn't talk much the way here." Well Mir hadn't. He had been hissing and screeching, certain that he was being sold again. "Could have been. Or he could have been spying." His voice hsd a conspiratorial tone.

[Eir]

Shrugging once more, "maybe you could ask him."

[Mir]

"I was uh... not entirely happy with the situation. I thought he was going to sell me to someone else." Mr explained sheepishly.

[Eir]

"How many times had you been sold?" it was genuine curiosity. Once was surely enough, but Eir was interested.

[Mir]

"Once. Well. Twice I guess? I was small when they caught me an my mom. I only knew the bosses of the guild that owned us. Not too well. They'd have hands, helpers so to speak, to poke us around. Make sure we worked until we got the quota."

[Eir]

Eir screwed up her nose in disgust, but she didn't have anything to say that sounded remotely appropriate.

[Mir]

"Well, I hope to do something about that when I get to decide where I go." Mir muttered. "I have debts to settle." He curled his paw into a fist. "I cannot save everyone, but I can set few wrongs right."

[Eir]

That earned a raised eyebrow from Eir, "don't let the masters hear you talking like that." Not that she disagreed, exactly.

[Mir]

"Don't plan to." Mir muttered. "It's not like I am planning to murder anyone." he added as an afterthought.

[Eir]

Eir chuckled at the forthrightness of the statement, “that’s something, then.”

[Mir]

"It is not a murder if you toss someone to a naxxa pit?" Mir asked, slowly blinking his eyes.

[Eir]

Trying to touch the Force, Eir reached out her senses to see if Mir was joking or not.

Alas, Mir was dead serious.

[Eir]

Eir blinked, "yeeeeeah, that's something we frown upon."

[Mir]

Mir was less than happy with the revelation. "I guess I'l have to do with stern talking then." he sighed a little. "Why it can be so hard to right the wrongs." His paw curled into a fist again. "What use is power if you cannot use it."

[Eir]

“Part of having power is in how we control it. If using your power becomes more important than why, then you no longer control it, it controls you.” Not that the galaxy would miss a few slavers, she noted.

[Mir]

"Well. I guess." Masters had told him as much. "But if I am using it for good, surely that counts for something!"
